Tom Finley and I got together and decided to try to do the 3rd Annual Joint Texas/Oklahoma Boomers Camp Out in Thackerville next year. We have reserved sites at the Red River RV Resort once again for the 1st weekend in May. So while your rigs are hibernating for the winter, please mark your calendars and let's have a big Okie showing at this fun get together next year.

More to follow:

Well, I waited a bit to see if anyone would post so my name wouldn't be at the top of the list but since that didn't happen:

Hey all, how about marking your calenders for this weekend and making the trip. Don and Pat have done a great job of putting this together for the last couple of years and I think it's time for us okie's to hold up our part of the bargain. In other words, SHOW UP! That's all I'll say for now but really, think about it this winter and see if you can plan this weekend, OK?

By the way, all of you people that have checked in but have not made it out, well, here it is, the perfect opportunity to come out and get to know everyone and meet some of the folks from Texas too.

Hey all, time to start thinking about this so I thought I'd bump it back to the top of the order. PLEASE, if you can find a way to make one, this is the one. If we don't have a decent turnout this year I'm not planning another. It's just not fair to Don and Pat to have them go through the work to set this up and then not show up. In other words, they are the ones that are trying to make this work so...make it work this time or we will call off the dogs.

Thanks everybody!!!

Warren, out of the faster horses, younger women and more whiskey, about all I can handle anymore is some of the whiskey and not so much of that.

Wonder if we can make an antenna out of the pink chickens. Madam Boomer gets upset if the roast them.

Ha! If Ken would bring his big turner I bet we could "tune" that bird up. What do you think Ken, tune the bird and use the fence for a counterpoise, maybe we could light up all those lights on the bird too, sort of an RF roasting!

The FT897 in my truck has a LDG tuner and I bet we can light up some birds.

Main thing here is: remember, lets all descend on Thackerville for the Okie/Texas boomer campout. Get your stuff together and get ready, its gonna happen.

For all you people that just happen to read things here, this is a great time to join in, plan the trip and come enjoy/meet the rest of us. YOU WILL have a great time, if you don't, you don't have to come and see us again. What a deal!!!

Tom,

We need to be sure and get a site down out of the way so that I can string up an antenna....or two.
