Just in case anyone still reads this,

I AM OFFICIALLY RETIRED/RETARDED (AS DON WOULD SAY) AS OF OCTOBER 13TH, 2009!

Next year is looking better all the time and I have all winter to get the trailers up in shape and ready to go, not to mention a thousand and one other things.

But all that shall pass too, as they say. Did I hear the word "cocktail time"!

Thanks guy's, Ken, for the short term I'll be busy getting all my work stuff cleaned out and converting my office to my "radio shack". After that, well......what ever I feel like doing I guess.

You will be surprised at the retirement phenomena. It takes all of your available time to do a few simple tasks. What you used to fit in in your spare time, now takes all of your time.

Retirement seems creates great inefficiency! I also think it's referred to a Margaritaville Time!

Tom, your 401K must be in better shape than my 201K plan. Have a good time and come this direction some time.

Don't hold your breath you may be busier now that you have all that free time to catch up on things you have put off for all these years.
Congrats anyway and enjoy what free time you have left after all the catching up.

Tom,

I honestly don't know how I ever had time to go to work now that I have been retarred a few years.

Congrats Buddy and you and Charlie go out and enjoy life !

Hey how about setting up the Joint Texas Oklahoma Boomers Rally at Thackerville next year. We don't have it on the Texas Boomers 2010 Schedule but I'll bet if you set it up a bunch of us Texas Boomers will attend. Especially for the seafood buffet at the Winstar Casino on Friday night.

Congrats on your retirement! A well deserved reward for all the time you've been a part of the rat race.

Jim's right. I got "forced retirement" in 2007 & the stuff I used to do in the evenings or on weekends now takes most of the week to accomplish. I keep getting side-tracked by other things along the way to finishing a task. Oh well, a busy day at home sure beats any day at the office, I say!

Tom..Congrats on your new-found freedom ...albeit short-lived! You will now find a longer "Honey-Do" list then you could ever imagine.
I hope you get a chance to travel out west- they have some great areas for Toy-haulers to bring their toys and play!

Congrats again...I know it has been well-earned!

Congrats Tom
When I chose be unemployed. My plan was to wake in the morning with nothing to do and all day to it and be satisfied if I got it half done.
Although you will probably find your self so busy with projects, and wondering how you accomplished anything while working.
enjoy

Hope you and Charlie are having fun. And get to do a lot of camping.
We've had another great granddaughter and another grandson on the way
(due first part of next month) on our 50th anniversary.
We are going to hook up on the 28th and head there direction, will take our
time and enjoy some camping on the way.
We haven't done much camping this year, seems like something always stands in the way, maybe it will be better next year. Seems like the boomers aren't on here much any more.
I've been building model planes just to keep from going nuts.

Good on you Tom - all the best on your retirement.

When and where do you start serving the cocktails. You can count me in......
