Hey Okies!
I've checked in several times lately and there aren't any new posts.
Roll call time! Let's update one another on what is happening in our part of the world and when we're going camping.
Cat & Jim in Tulsa present & accounted for!
We've been busy enjoying the cooler weather this past week or so, doing some landscaping, home improvement projects, taking the boat to the lake, and a little camping.
Next camping trip is planned for Labor Day weekend. We almost never camp on holiday weekends but we decided to give it a try.
What are you doing these days?

Hi Cat, I've been busy ever since getting back from New Mexico, first out of town on business, then trying to get caught up with the yard and everything else. We parked the trailer, got it cleaned up inside and emptied out and thats been it. Charley's been so busy since we got back I think I've only seen her twice since but kind of the norm anymore. No camping planned at this time, trying to get my tower and antennas ready to put up before winter for my ham radio station.

Still alive and kicking. Lurking, and waiting for a camping date to show up here.

Hey bugeater, rather than wait for someone to pick a date, just pick one that you want to go and post a note and let folks know where you are going. Built it and they will come....reserve a campsite and they will follow.

Hello y'all!!
Good to hear from you! I'm thinking that we ought to try and get together soon. So I'll throw a suggestion out here and see if anyone is interested.
How about the third weekend in September? That would be the 19th through 21st. How about camping at Twin Points on Skiatook or Hawthorn Bluff at Oologah? It should be nice & cool by then, what do you say? Feel free to share your ideas, alternate dates, and campground suggestions.

OK Jimmy has asked for a few days off, so we have decided we will be at Skiatook Lake at Twin Points from Thursday 9/18 until either Sunday or Monday.
I'm going to wait to reserve an exact spot because we may have two other couples with us. If anyone wants to join in, please do!!

I made the decision to go ahead and reserve our spot today. Our friends aren't sure how many days, etc., they can stay so I've been holding off waiting on them. We are in site #17.
If y'all can join us feel free to reserve a nearby site! It should be cooler weather, great for campfire visits, and we'll hope the fish are biting.

Cat, I wish we could join you, but it is a bit far for a weekend.

Ah, what's a matter Ken, just take a few days off and come on, it's only money!
Cat, We plan on making it but haven't committed yet as I think I have to go out of town shortly, just don't know which week yet and I'm really tired of giving that "cancellation" fee to those turkeys. We'll continue to monitor but will probably be a last minute go or no go. May have to take potluck for camping spots.
Speaking of potluck Cat, what's the plan for a big meal??

Hey guys!
Ken I wish y'all could come up but I completely understand... that is a long way for just a long weekend with what looks like just a few of us Okies. LOL
Tom, we have one other couple coming so far (our former next door neighbors = nice folks) so we haven't really planned a pot luck. Sounds like a good idea to me. How about a bring your own steak and then everyone make a side dish to go with them.... or something like that? What would you suggest?? Or we could just go with an easy fix and do hamburgers, whatever. There may be a few other people coming up for the day/evening on Saturday so they could contribute to the meal, too.
We are looking forward to seeing y'all! Tell Charley that she should have some time to relax since we'll have our boat up there and Jimmy will take you fishing with him if you want to go.
