Actually I have, in fact just got a QSL card from a guy and need to send one back.
Been listening a lot but not talking too much. Kind of in that mode where I want a better antenna before talking too much. Talked to a guy in St Croix and several across the US.
Haven't heard anyone on 10, usually on 20 or 40 during the day, mostly on 2 during the evening and 75 sometimes.
Guess everything down there has recovered from the storm?

Tom, Around us, everything is normal, but to the south they still have problems. The folks in Galveston still have not received much help from FEMA for housing. The governor has been sending help in spite of Washington. Lot of difference in the attitude of the folks in Texas vs. New Orleans.
My Butternut HF9V does a super job when conditions are better for some longer distances. Been using the dipole a lot for state side contacts.
The local club NARS ( www.w5nc.org), has a 10m net on Mondays at 2000 CST on 28.444. If that doe not work, there is often a "Walter Net" with a member that moved west of San Antonio on 7.806 and up. Might try to see if we can be heard. Always welcome some "DX" from out of state.
Ken

By the way, off topic but still has something to do with the Oklahoma boomers, BOOMER SOONER, Christ, what a game. We'll see what the BCS has to say, either way, what a game!

Hey Tom
I think you might have been talking on your ham radio to long. My birth date is Sept. 25, 1958. Didn't put the year on the other post.

Don`t pay the ransom, I have escaped. Yes we been in for the winter and most of the summer and last winter. I can semi type now so I may not shut up. We had all the family in for CHRISTMAS and ate wau too much date loaf candy! Got stuff that probably willnever use but enjoyed the gramds and greatgrands.
We also had a good time at the oldest kids place in the countryside for thanksgiving, way too much consumed food there too.
Gwen is now the proud owner of a white fuzz face that thinks he is like forest gump, he can throw a ball or whatever he has in his mouth and then run and catch it. I think he is going to be a camper.
FASTER HORSES, YOUNGER WOMEN an thats all I can take WARREN

Warren, I'm so glad to hear from you, as time went on we were really getting worried but didn't know how to contact you. Its great that you and Gwen have a new "best bud", should be a bunch of fun. I hope you all are doing fine and hope to see you next year. Hope you and Gwen had a merry Christmas and enjoy a great new year. Try coming around more often, YA HEAR!
