It's hard to think about camping in October of 2007 already, but we've just made our reservation at Shawnee State Park for the weekend of Friday October 5th through Monday the 8th for next years festival.

The 2007 Bedford Fall Foilage Festival. is again being held over two weekends, but as usual, we try to attend the weekend that Columbus day is celebrated to take advantage of the kids being off school for a day.

This is the 7th year that we plan to attend the festival and hopefully we'll even have more rigs than in the past. For 2006, we had 6 iRV2 rigs at the campground and decided to reserve again for next year as soon as the reservation system allowed us to. The festival is very popular so the electric sites at Shawnee park fill quickly requiring us to reserve early.

Below is the list of sites that we currently are on as well as a link for a campground map. Feel free to join our group in '07 for the festival

Yes, we would like to have others join us. The area is very pretty at that time of year.
For those unfamiliar with the campground, sites 66 and 69 are very nice big rig 50 amp sites. Sites 65-70 are grassy sites but suitable I think for both motorhomes and trailers. Sites 41-50 on that side of the street are good also I believe for both motorhomes and trailers.
The park does fill up fast. If those sites are taken and you want our opinions on another site, please ask away.

Come on Bob, don't back out on us for '07. With 66 & 69 still available, you've gotta show up.

Maybe we can get some new members to join us. woodburner, Miles or Teach - you all seem to be in the general vicinity with the rest of us Pond Piggies. It's a pretty drive there & the state park is beautiful. Please, come join us. We'd love to have you. Good folks, good food, good fires - what's not to love?

Gary,

Glad you are going to be able to make it.

I've updated the list of sites reserved and thought I'd make a couple more site suggestions for others.

Sites 78 and 79 had large 5th wheels on last year and would work well for 5'vers or large trailers. Sites 81 and 83 were also new sites that would work well for 30' or less trailers. For motorhomes, 45 and 47 are good sites. If those number book up, we can make some more suggestions.

Lets get some more folks signed up.

A new floorplan was introduced for "late '07",it's a 4545 and not even on the web site yet...I saw the plan on paper in the Newmar office in Nappanee.
It's VERY similar to the 4502 we presently have and I am very interested, so much so that I've been in communication with Marty Lown of Coachlight RV in Carthage,MO.

We've discussed a few changes such as adding a Villa "sleeper booth dinette" in lieu of the table and chairs,as well as moving the washer and dryer....In this particular floorplan, the washer and dryer are back next to the sliding door hanging closet in the bedroom and you loose the drawers and doors we have in the 4502. Marty is ordering this floorplan for himself and is moving the washer and dryer to the hallway and deleting the toilet room sink for the needed space.
Lori REALLY wanted the true booth instead of even the one we have now...

Hey Joe....you reading my mind again? How'd ya know I was doing all this?

BTW....she'd have a late March/early April completion date....if we go with it.

Oh, actually I was just kidding but since your rig will be a year old...you might be about due for a new one

BTW, rumors are circulating that the the demo LA at the factory you walked through did have to go back to the service department right after you left Napanee.

Seems someone drooled all over it so the the service guys had to wipe it down

I'm so glad you guys are joining us, Bob & Gary. As Bob knows, we're all about eating & having a good time. I look forward to seeing you both then if not before at some other Pond Piggie get together.

I've decided I'm not going to any rv shows this winter. I've already seen the new Gulf Stream models with the opposing 19ft slides on their website & if I see one in person I'll be following in the footsteps of Bill & Bob. Although, probably all by myself as a divorce would surely precede a new coach. Plus, I'm out of a job as of the end of the year. I doubt unemployment would make the payments.

I have site 82 reserved. I'm currently visiting my son in Salisbury, MD and staying in a motel (Yuck!) here for two nights. It really makes me miss all the comforts and conveniences of the TT. If I hadn't already put it away for the winter, I would have brought it as the cost of fuel to tow it here and back compared to paying for the motel would have been a wash.
