Well we finally got a chance to visit Alum Creek after the past few years of saying "gotta go there someday".
I have to say I'm almost sorry we went....Way to many low hanging branches for our clearance...actually snapped a couple off backing into our site...and the shower house was full of black mold due in no small part to a lack of ventilation....(which I will never understand!!!) being it is so easy to allow dry fresh air to circulate into a building at no cost to the park!
Hope this prevents anyone with a larger coach from sustaining an kind of damage.
They do however have the absolute best dog park just down the road from the campgrounds which Sadie(our dog) enjoyed daily while we were there!

Hey John,

Been wonderin' where you've been. Hadn't seen many posts so I figured you were doin' a lot of camping. Hope you & Jan have had a good season. It's coming to an end all too soon.

I'm sorry to hear about the state of affairs w/trees at Alum Creek. It's too bad they've not kept up with the maintenance (of trees or bathrooms). When we had the Cougar, site A38 (pics below) was our favorite - super long, spacious & private. Even then, some branches were low, but at least they were thin ones & at the front of the site. Once we were backed in, the space opened way up. We've thought about going back, but Dave doesn't think he can maneuver the coach in that same site now, due to the entrance angle & steep ditches on the roadsides. Besides, if the trees are that bad now, that site is probably pretty closed off at the front anymore.

Thanks Lori;We had site J-27.... It was a good season but we had a few issues that kind of slowed us down....i.e. brakes and shocks.
Had to totally re-wire the brakes; kept getting intermittent signals from the Brake controller that the trailer was disconnected...after trouble shooting every idea I could find on the issue from all the different forums I decided to just re-do everything and be done with it...found wire chaffing in several locations which is kind of scary given the fact we only do weekends and maybe a week or two here and there...not a lot of mileage. Anyway that's behind us. Found 2 busted shocks while working on the brakes!
We're doing Westbranch the 5th through the 10th and Saltfork the 19-21st, then hopefully a few days at my fishin hole to end the season....It went by way too fast for us!

John, we just missed ya West Branch. I e-mailed ya this past Thursday to see if you were going to be there. I know you are there a bunch. We were there this past weekend ( Oct. 2-4th) in site 103. A bunch of people canceled in the full service loop so we were able to move from a electric site to 103 in the full service loop. We had a nice weekend (no rain). I'll have to email you about something funny that happened that Friday...I can't risk saying it here.....I notice they are building a campers beach near site 160....
We'll be back there on Wed. Oct. 14 for 4 nights for the Halloween Campout. I'm getting my display items all ready.

Just returned from West Branch a couple hours ago....great week if you like wind....and I do mean wind with a bit of rain. Got treated to a lady who played the bagpipes!
Jan had to stop me from smearing mud on my face and yelling "I'm William Wallace" after each tune...
Sounded really cool throughout the campgrounds; I think they were in 101 and we were in 108 and it just sounded great!
We were hoping for a repeat performance yesterday but it rained ALL DAY!
That was the only time this season we got in there....there sure were a lot of cancellations in the full hook-up section....we were one of two on the circle from Monday till Wednesday and the reservation page had showed there would be 9 sites taken.
