Boondocking in Missouri

Hello everyone. We moved from Utah a couple years ago to the Kansas City area. We’re wanting to head out camping next weekend, but the Allstate app doesn’t help us much. We like boondocking near creeks, rivers and trails. We’d like to stay within 2-3 hours of Kansas City.

Anyone have any good spots that are relatively secluded?

I’ve been looking around the Niangua, Sac River and brush creek.

Forest Service

Using the forest service map link, I see lots of forest south and east of Kansas City.
Call, they can be very helpful about dispersed camping in the US Forests.
