Calling all campers...Last chance West Branch

** Attention all diehard campers ** This is last minute, but if any brave leaf peepers want to get one more weekend in. We plan to go to West Branch SP. this weekend ( Oct 28-30). The forecast is for semi-sunny 50 Friday, sunny 57 on Saturday and 62 and sunny on Sunday. I called the park office a few minutes ago and they said they will have about 70% of the campground open. The full service sites are just about gone. The regular electric sites only have 5 reservations as of noon Thursday. My parents and myself plan to leave mid-morning to get a site. I heard maybe another family (Miklas's)may go too. Talked to George a minute ago and he is leaning towards coming out for a friday night campfire visit. OK George is that fine???

Have a good trip! Sounds like the weather will cooperate. We're winterizing the 5-r on Sat & decorating the house (lights, sound & fog machines, putting up tombstones...etc) Sun for all the trick or treaters coming.

**Post trip report** I arrived at West Branch at 11am Friday morning to get a good site for me and one for my parents. Started off sunny, but rained for about an hour at 4pm. At evening campfire we had a few short sprinkles here and there. The Miklas's visited us for dinner and campfire. Saturday morning brought ice on the picnic table in the early morning,but turned out to be a very nice sunny fall day. The campground was about 95% full by Sat. morning. The fall colors were at their peak. Left about 2 on Sunday. Now its time to start to get the trailer ready for winter. I just hate to do it.
