~ May 27-30 Cutty's (3 nights) The weather forecast called for a good chance rain this weekend. Turned out to be rather nice with a few rain showers at night. Did a bunch of shopping at Hartville flea market. Had 5 families from IRV2.

~ June 17-19 West Branch SP Ohio (2 nights)

~ June 23-26 Four Season ATV campground SW PA. (3 nights)

~ July 17-25 Mohican SP Ohio (8 nights)

~ July 29-31 Mosquito Lake SP Ohio (2 nights)

~ August 6-10 Clear Creek SP NW PA. (4 nights)

~ August 10-17 Cooks Forest SP NW PA. (7 nights)

~ Oct. 7-9 West Branch SP. Ohio (2 nights)

~ Oct. 13-17 West Branch SP. Ohio ( 4 nights)

~ Cct. 28-30 West Branch SP. Ohio (2 nights)

Still looking to fill in more weekend trips. Was thinking about Whisper Hills 1/2 off weekend. And a trip some time this season to East Harbor. Can you tell me alittle about the state parks here in Ohio. How you rate the ones you've been to. We go to Huston Woods SP alot and like it alot'only live 8 miles from it . Also got a cardinal card that knocks down the price. Alway's looking for the Quick getaway for a weekend .

We havent done alot of State parks over the years because they use to be so hard to get into. But within the last couple of years, we have been to Pymatuning, Punderson, Salt Fork, and Alum. I think they are all nice parks. I drove thru Mohican last year and it was nice. One of our friends goes to Mohican every year. I dont think you will go wrong with any of them.

Superslif is our expert on the OH SP's - he'll probably chime in here sooner or later.

We've been to Alum Creek, Cowan Lake, Deer Creek, Dillon, East Harbor, Pymatuning, Salt Fork & we're headed to West Branch this wknd. I've got about half a dozen more picked out for this season that we haven't been to yet - just have to find the time to make it to them.

A lot of the OH SP's are in the process of upgrading & adding sites. 50a & full h/u's are going in & a lot of the park's bathhouses/restrooms are getting improved or new builds. I know Geneva SP has a brand new multi-million dollar lodge.

As with any parks, some have better "facilities" than others (i.e. newer or at least more freshly painted). We've been pleased with all the OH SP's we've been to so far. The Cardinal Card is a must if you're going to camp at the parks a lot. Sure saves in the long run.

We'd love to have you join our Pond Piggie group if you ever see some place we're going that you'd like to visit. Not all of us make it together every time, but most of the group seems to congregate together at least once a month. Feel free to hang with us whenever you want.

Hello,
As far as State Parks down in your (Countryboy's)area of Southwestern Ohio, we haven't been in that area of the state. The closest one would be either Hocking Hills in southcentral Ohio or Mohican (Northcentral).
Mohican SP has a lot to offer like; nice pool, good river sites, rafting & canoeing, bunch of hiking, amish shopping. The sites are nice and level in general. As far as size wise they range from a few small ones to many very large ones. The small river for rafting runs along one side the campground.
Hocking Hills has a bunch of trail hiking and also has a pool. The sites there are funny. About 1/2 are either very short or very unlevel.
Others in the Northeast that we have stayed at are; Findlay, Punderson, West Branch, Barkcamp, Beaver Creek, Geneva, Pymatuning, Mosquito,
Mohican, West Branch, Punderson and Hooking Hills are very popular parks, so reservations would be needed far ahead of time for summer weeks and weekends. During the off season (March-May & Sept-Nov) its not too bad to get in without a reservation.
For any of these parks I have listed, I have marked down all the good sites. Just E-mail me on which one you might want to make a reservation for. Here is a link to a few pictures of each http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/slif_1998/my_photos

Wow, Looks like a very nice weekend ahead. We'll be at West Branch this weekend. Diane has to be back at church early Sunday, so with it being only 25-30 miles away it will work. Will be able to try the new bike rack I fabricated to go on the back of the trailer. I took off the spare tire and used the mounting to add a hitch receiver. The bike rack then slides into that. See ya guys at Cutty's next weekend......O, Mike you said something about a yardsale for campers at Cutty's. I have some stuff set aside for my own sale later this year, maybe I'll bring a few boxes along. Was it for Sat. or Sun?

Jim, I was about to go on the Cutty's post and remind people about the yard sale. Since it is something unofficial, you could do it whenever you want. I will probably put mine out for awhile on Sat. and then again Sunday.
