In hopes of attracting some members to join in. We've already got a few pull-thru's (K-3, K-4, & K-5) as well as great back-in's (K-24 & K-26) set aside, just waitin' for some takers. There's plenty to do in the area as you can see from the Stark County CVB Site.

Come join in.

x2.

Ok, we're just about out of time for holding open sites, so I'm putting out a last call for any area members to join us. It's so hard to find fhu sites on a holiday weekend at most campgrounds. Jim (Superslif) has already done the finding. Now all we need are folks to fill the slots.

If anyone out there hasn't made plans for Memorial Day, take advantage of the sites already on hold & come join us for a great kick-off to the summer camping season.

I mailed my deposit check to Cutty's yesterday (01/13). I tried calling during the holidays and leaving a call back number but by the time they returned my call Chris was back at school and there was no one home (except Purrscilla and we haven't taught her how to answer the phone yet) to answer the call. However, they did leave a voicemail with the amount of deposit I needed. So, rather than play more phone games, it was easier to mail them a check.

Good deal Frank. But for future instances, I think you need to teach Purrscilla how to answer the phone.

Yes Frank, I'm going thru the same thing waiting for them to contact me. I want to update the thread here to reflect the confirmed sites and to see if I can extend our "site hold". But it has been at least 2 weeks waiting for a call back. I left a few messages on the email and the answering machine.....I remember Randy (the owner)saying they were going to be doing some construction in Jan. But I don't see anyone doing outdoor work in this weather.....

Mike, we had a cat a long time ago that once answered the phone. We used to keep the bedroom phone on the lower shelf of the night stand. I noticed that when the phone rang, sometimes the cat would run over and look at it.

One of the girls at the office had her car in for service and needed a ride to work the next day. She said she would call me at home that night to remind me to pick her up. My wife and I went out that evening and when we came home there was no message on the answering machine so I figured that she forgot to call. As I sat on the bed to take my shoes off, I heard this "dit.. dit.. dit.. dit.." sound. I looked down and saw the receiver was off the hook. I thought maybe I bumped it off when I was untying my shoes. So, I put the receiver back on the hook and went to bed.

The next morning, I picked up my rider and she related to me this story:

"I called your house last night and the strangest thing happened. The phone rang about three times and someone answered it. But, when I said hello, they wouldn't say anything."

I can only assume that Puss answered the phone while we were out.

I wouldn't put it past Purrscilla to some day answer the phone. We have to keep the Meow-Mix in a locking plastic container because Miss Purr's dish was empty one night and she decided to satisfy her hunger by jumping up on the kitchen counter and clawing/biting her way into the Meow-Mix bag.

Getting the cat to answer the phone is easy, it's teaching her to give out your credit card number that's the tricky part. If you need someone to help you out as you teach Purrscilla how to do that, I'd be glad to take those calls.

I'm still waitin' on mine. They returned my call shortly after New Year's Day & took my CC info, but I'm still waiting on the receipt.

Yes, I'm still waiting since New Years week to talk to someone at Cutty's so I can get an updated list of site confirmations. I have tried email, phone and the reservation route. So far no one has called me back.... I want to try to extend the hold we have on the rest of the open sites lift in our original site hold. They might be snowed in...... Or living it up in their winter home down in Florida....

Well, if they aren't returning calls to you, Jim, then they haven't returned calls for folks wanting to reserve sites for Memorial Day either, I'd say. Your hold on those sites probably still stands, until they get back to you otherwise.

Every chance I get, I'm lobbying to get more members to join us. I've bugged more than a few local existing members & I lurk the New Members forum searching out new region members, OH ones especially.

Send a message via Skype™ to George Miklas
I sent an electronic reservation weeks ago, and have never gotten a telephone call yet! I'm debating whether to send an electronic reservation again....
