We had a great week end camping. This was our 5th year at the Halloween camp out @ Findley. It was real nice meeting superslif. I hope you guys had a good time. We had to bug out Sunday because of bday parties and bowling. I will post a night pic of your display. The guy in site 240 won the daytime contest.

This week end originally started as a guys weekend with my Scoutmaster from the eighties and our kids. He passed away suddenly in Aug of '09 only 52 y.o.

So I still go and take his son with us. His wife comes and spends Sat afternoon and evening with with us as well. His son is now 15 so I hope he wants to keep coming, I like to think that his dad would like me taking him.

Anyway it was great, the time and money people spend on their dislays is amazing.

I do mine on a budget, either homemade, garage sales or 75% sales after Halloween. I snapped a bunch of pictures also. I have to upload new software for my new camera, then I'll post some pixs. At night, I took some night time pictures with a 60 second shutter that came out very nice. In order to do that you have to use a tri-pod. I got there Wed., it was so nice I called my boss and took another vacation day and stayed till Monday. The colors on the trees were really starting to pop.....I did the 8 mile single track mountain bike trail Monday morning. It was great...It was smooth and dry. I was all by myself Sunday night at the end of that loop. there were 5 RVers on that street who stayed Sunday night.

The camp hosts told me they were getting the boot because the state of Ohio was laying -off all the park employees except one ranger and one office girl. The VIP's usually work till Nov 1st. But it just came down, Strickland was cutting everyone he can to make his numbers look better for the election....The VIP's can't do any work when the union workers are layed-off. So they had to turn their keys in Sunday.....Means the the park will be a mess when the camping season opens in the spring.....Wet leaves on tall grass ='s mushy / muddy sites in the spring.

Here are a few pix's from the Halloween campout at Findley State Park in NE Ohio (Oct 6-11). I got there Wed. to start to set up and enjoy the very nice weather. It was such a nice weekend I called my boss and said give me another vacation day for Sunday night. So I ended up staying 5 nights and left on Monday. It was so nice the following weekend we went back to Findley for 3 more nights.....

This has been the nicest Oct camping weather ever.

Your right about the weather. This past weekend I was putting the pup in it's heated barn and thinking I should be getting it out not putting it away. If we get a nice weekend in Nov. I may take a quick trip to West Branch. West Branch and Beaver Creek are the 2 closest SP's. Beaver Creek is a great little park but the campground is primitive except for 3 electric sites. They have some decent trails and a historic village and working grist mill. there is also a haunting bride looking for her fiancée that left her at the alter .

I will tent camp with my scouts in Nov. and cabins in Feb. but thats not exactly relaxing. Their a lot of fun but it's not relaxing.
