We are planning a trip to the beaches on lake Michigan in about 2 1/2 weeks. We are going to be staying for a long weekend. We are camping in a 40 feet long motor home and towing a Jeep. What beaches and what campgrounds are good ones to stay at and go to. We have a 3 and a 5 year old who we took to the beach in California and they are begging to go back to a beach.
Thank You
Chris

Been several years but the state park there used to have drycamping next to the beach. Caution, the sand there is a lot hotter than in Calif. Mine, as 8 & 10 yearolds, had to wear shoes all the time.. large mosquito population in the trees.

Well maybe I should broaden the area we are looking at going to. The Indiana dunes was an idea someone told me about but after a little research there are many beaches on the east side of lake michigan. We would like to go to any nice beach. I would like to stay as close to the water as possible. Would also like to to stay in the southern part of Michigan but if we have to drive farther north we will.
Any information on any beach or campground would be very helpful.
Thank you Chris

We were there about 6 weeks ago, mosquito's were BAD! I'd suggest South Haven, MI. Just up the coast a little. They will be having a big Blueberry festival in a few weeks. Then there are some beaches a few miles away.

We stayed at Michigan city rv park and we to the beach at Washington park. We had a very good time and will go again for sure. Just like the ocean minus the drive. We also went on a boat ride into Michigan on the lake. It was also a very good time. Just thought I would give an update.
