Does anyone know of a campground or trailer park near the Methodist Hosp. that is open in Jan. We have to make a trip out there the first or second week of Jan. Or would it be better to try to find a Hotel?
Any help would be great.

Earl

Earl, Methodist Hospital is located near downtown Indianapolis. The campgrounds that are acceptable for safe camping are on the outer part of the city [10 to 15 miles from the hospital] In January the temps can be brutally cold. I would reccomend a hotel/motel near the hospital. You can contact the hospital and they can recomend a good one that is close and comfortablefor your stay. Good Luck with the hospital stay- Methodist is one of the best.

indiana journey, Thanks for the reply! We have a Aunt that is in the Hosp. and the wife wants to go see her, So it will only be for a few days just in the time frame of the first two weeks, My first thought was a Hotel because of the cold but thought I would ask anyway.
Thanks again and Have a Happy and Safe New Years

Earl

The Indiana State Fairgrounds on Eastern side of the city operates a small CG on the grounds.
There are two more CG's South of Indy, one on Southport Rd., and one South of I465 about 3 miles on S.R. 37. They are listed in TL.
Call Methodist Hospital and inquire about RV parking nearby, they may have a large outside lot in addition to the parking garage. Google maps may be of use.

We come to Indy twice a year for a visit with the doctors at the VA (a few blocks from Methodist) and stay in Crawfordsville at Sugar Creek Campground. They are open all winter.

Crawfordsville is to the west of Indy. Methodist is a straight shot via I-74 onto a city street past the Indy Speedway. Easy drive.

Drive time for us to the VA from Crawfordsville is less than 45 minutes. Sugar Creek is no frills and is a Passport America member. A number of rigs are here all winter since there are a number of building projects going on in the surrounding area.

HOWEVER we have never been here in the winter. We do our visits in the spring and fall
