I remember last year we had a weekend in late Aug. at Mohican. These 2 ladies arrived after dark and didn't have the slightest idea how to put up their old pole tent..or have a flashlight. I'm a sucker for helping out the needy. It was one of those deals if you had one pole wrong, or in the wrong place you were screwed.....We finally got it.... after playing musical poles for a half hour.....
We are leaving about 1:30 and should be there by 3:30. My friend (Rob) & girlfriend from my ski club are arriving about 8 or 9.....

It was great seeing everyone. I hope everyone got home safely, or at least most of the way, before the rains set in.
Tony & Sheryl: enjoy the peace & quiet now that the campground emptied out. Safe travels home.

Lori:
I think I might have lost my mittens anyway. I couldn't find them when I got home. However, I haven't unloaded the truck yet so they might still just be hiding somewhere.
We were all set to depart when a guy from the family camping on the other side of the restroom came over asking if I had jumper cables. I told him I had them but they were all the way in the front of the bed of the truck. I would of had to unload half the bed just to reach the box they were in. However, it was his lucky day because I brought my battery charger (for the first time ever) which was in the back seat and we were able to get him started with that.
We arrived home dry, got the TT unhooked and the critical stuff in the house before the rain arrived. I'll unload the rest of the truck tomorrow morning if the weather's not threatening.
Except for the thundershower this morning, you couldn't have asked for better weather. I was nice to see everyone once again.

Just after Bill, Mike, and Joe left, the clouds opened up and then the rest of the campground emptied out pretty fast. By 3pm, there were only three of us left in different sections and it was quite spooky. We arrived home about 3PM today and had a wonderful time including the tubing, campfire stories and great dish -to-pass dinners. Great group of people. Saw George play the harmonica and guitar at the same time.

Yes, you couldn't have asked for better weather. The water temperature of the river was much warmer than it should have been for this time of year. We got caught in the rain packing up. For years we would spend a week at Mohican in July, but in the past 4-5 years have branched out to explore other Ohio and PA. State Parks.

What a difference a week makes! The creek coming off Pleasant Hill Lake is high, muddy & swift. I'll bet the canoe liveries around Mohican are closed because the current is probably too dangerous to venture into - although there'd be no butt dragging if you were tubing!

We got a wee bit with this thread topic, so being the responsible Moderator that I am , I moved the Prince Gallitzin/Clear Creek discussions to the Pond Piggie Forum.
