Hi! We are new to this site and were wondering how many others there are from Mo. Or, Western Illinois, as we are only an hour or so from the mighty Mississippi! We live just outside of Warrenton in Warren County. That is about 60 miles West (and a little North) of St. Louis out I-70. This is our first MH (we had a 5th wheel for several years first), and we are looking forward to some trips this year to places not too far from home as we get used to everything.

We've got over 350 registered members from Missouri, several fairly active. Might just take 'em a while to get over here to see your post.

If ya do an advanced search on the members list from the Community tab, you can get a listing & maybe PM or email to get in touch with those nearest to you.

Woo-Hoo! Missouri campers checking in! I am happy now!

@ a k. WOW! We moved here to the country FROM Wildwood. So we used to be neighbors.....and still not too far apart.

@ Grumpy 9. As a matter of fact we have reservations at Hannibal City Park for the weekend of the 27th and 28th......their Wurstfest. If you like wine and fresh sausage come on out and look us up!

@ NLOVNIT. Thanks for the tip. I knew there had to be lots more from Missouri here. We LOVE this site, and all the helpful people!

@ ernieh. We are right up the highway from you......almost to Warrenton out I-70.

We moved to the country so we could park our (at the time) 5th wheel in our own driveway. We have so much parking space now we moved up (size-wise) to a motorhome! We already have several camping trips planned, but we're also looking for someplace to go over the Memorial Day weekend...........don't figure we should wait much longer to make reservations. And, we only have 4 or 5 days so we need someplace less than a days drive. What are some of your favorite 'close to home' places? We stayed at most of the near-by state parks when we had the 5th wheel........we'll still stay in them, but we'd like to check out more of the private parks, too.

Thanks for any ideas,
Marilynn

Here is a site that should be helpfull. Just take your pick.
Missouri RV Parks & Campgrounds - Camping in Missouri - RV Clubs
BTW While you are in Hannibal, DO NOT try to take the moho up the hill to the Mansion!!!! I tried it and I ripped the black tank off. Not a pretty sight.

Hi MoRV Welcome to the forum, we were born and raised in St. Joseph, MO, but moved out west to Las Vegas back in 1958, so unfortunately kind of out of the loop on activities and places to go back there, We always rather liked the Lake Ozarks area when we were youngsters---Long time ago--LOL

Looks like you have a real nice coach with your HR Vacationer. Wishing you many fun, safe and trouble free journeys.

We are fom Central Illinois, and are hopefully planning a trip to Mermac State Park before Memorial Day. We have stayed there before, and enjoyed our short stay.

Branson if our favorite spot to vacation to.

Grumpy9....thank you for the link. I will have to check these out. Thanks even more for the tip about the Mansion. We will definately NOT try that one in the moho.

LVJ58.....you should come 'home' to visit! And, thanks. We are sure looking forward to lots of smiles and miles in our coach.

Grumpytrkr......we love Branson and Meramec State Park. But we've always done Branson in a condo. And we've never spent the night at Meramec. We're looking forward to 'roughing' it in both places.

We actually have looked into some of the RV parks in Branson.....any recommendations?

Thanks so much for all the responses...
Marilynn

We have stayed at Shoals Bend, which is now a Jellystone Park. That was our favorite. We have stayed at ABC and Branson City Campground. ABC is very highly rated, however, I think the sites are to close together, and when we were at Branson City Campground, they were doing road work getting in and out of the park.

Branson is fun no matter where you stay.
