Need stop in western IN advice

Any recommendations for a rest area, truck stop or WM, close to I-70 headed westbound between Indy & Terre Haute? Need to catch a few zzz's in the middle of the night on the way to FW MH Rally in late June. We'll be leaving home late night & dont' want to disturb folks at a CG trying to pull in in the wee hours of the AM.

Thanks!

I can think of two rest areas. One is the Illinois welcome center, and there is a rest area between Indy and Terre Haute. I can't think of any truck stops. There are lots of truck stops in Effingham, IL, which I THINK is 70 miles west of Terre Haute.

Good luck.

Thanks Grumpytrkr. I saw that IL welcome center, it's just 7mi inside the eastern IL border - about as far as we want to go coming from central OH in the middle of the night. I'll check the net for the location of the westbound IN rest area.

Lori, At east exit of Terre Haute, where the KOA is on south side, there is a new Walmart to north, about 3/4 mile on west side. Its big parking lot and I have seen RVs in there so that would be my recommendation.

Best rest area is west of Indianapolis near Plainfield, and its huge, although I prefer Walmarts to Rest Areas.

Thanks, BZam. I've spent a lot of time reading the Walmart Parking thread here. I never seem to get out of WM without spending at least between $50 & $100 dollars. Although, I will admit, the 1 time we did O/N in one, I felt quite safe with the security patrol, cameras & well lit-parking lot.

Lori, there are two truck stops 1/2 mi South of the I 70 and IN 59 interchange. This is about 50 mi East of IL/IN line. I recommend the one on the East side of the 4-way blinker. The other is kind of shabby-unless you park with the autos in front.

Thanks, Ray. I know we'll easily make it to Indy, but not sure as far as Terra Haute even though that's only 1.5 hrs farther. It's good to have recommended possibilities along that stretch we know we can pull into.
