OH RV Supershow - Columbus Mar 12-14, 2010

Some dealers didn't attend the one in 2009 because it's just a weekend &, with the economy in a nosedive last spring, they didn't think it was worth hauling their stock for just a weekend. Hopefully, they will all be at the 2010 show.

We're going to the Cleveland show on Jan 9...Hopefully wont have the snow storm we had last year

Looking to upgrade again....Now last year you had us all thinking you were scooping out the big rigs, but you blind-sided us with a new 5er.......

I E-mailed the company that runs the Columbus (March) show last week. I had asked him how many dealers were signed up, because I heard from a Columbus native (Lori) the show didn't have many dealers. Here was his response:

AS FAR AS THE COLUMBUS SHOW GOES, THERE ARE ONLY A HAND FULL OF VIABLE DEALERS... THESE ARE DEALERS THAT ARE REPUTABLE AND WILL BE HERE TOMORROW... WE DO NOT ASSOCIATE OURSELVES WITH OTHER TYPES OF DEALERS.... THE ECONOMY HAS HIT THE RV INDUSTRY AS ALL OTHERS... AS FAR AS RV DEALERS... ALL OF MY SHOWS ARE SOLD OUT... WE DO HAVE LESS DEALERS THAN IN YEARS PAST... BUT NEVER THE LESS THE REPRESENTATION OF PRODUCT LINES HAVE NOT FALLEN OFF AT ALL.

AS FAR AS VENDORS GO.. MY SHOWS ARE NOT NOW, OR EVER WILL BE GEARED TOWARDS 10 X 10 BOOTHS... WE AVERAGE AROUND 20-25 PER EVENT, BUT ALL OF OUR SPACE IS MOSTLY DEDICATED TO THE RV'S.

WE ARE LISTING THE SHOWS AS FAST AS WE CAN... DAYTON WILL BE UPLOADED THIS WEEKEND...

RCD Sales, biggest dealer in the Columbus market, didn't go to the March '09 show for the reason I stated in my OP. There were also several other state bordering dealers missing too (one near Piqua, one from down by Cinci & Tom Raper didn't show) if I recall. I'm sure the dealers that did participate were able to bring more stock since the others were absent. So, I'm sure the space was sold out in '09, just with fewer dealers there.

Although RCD lost the Fleetwood TT/5-r stock due to FW pulling out of that market, they since gained Keystone, Jayco & Heartland. They already carried (& still do) the full line of Carriages (the Royals look sweet w/the full body paint!).

I'm hoping the ones absent will be back for the '10 show. I still like looking. Right now, Newmar is the only mfr that has a gas coach in a floorplan I want. None of the other mfr's have one worth trading our Bounder for. We're still not ready for a diesel (although that 40QDP Tiffin Bus on iRV2 is tempting)....yet.
