We are new to the state and this looks like an interesting area. Has anyone been there and can you recommend a campground for that area.
Thanks

Miles,It has been a while since I was there, the Newton-Stewart campground on the south side of Patoka Lake was a real nice campground. It had clean restrooms and large camping spots. It hasn't got a lot to do other than fish and boating but there are lots of other things in the area. Enjoy Orange County. Indianajourney

Miles, Here is all the information you'll need. Indiana DNR website After you arrive at the "check availability" page you will have the opportunity to view a CG map of sites. You may choose any site on the available list.

Ray,IN-
How accurate are the site descriptions? I know for OH, you always have to take what's listed with a grain of salt (i.e. "level" seems to be a matter of opinion).
Reason I'm asking, is, I'm looking at trying more IN state parks this year & the first one I've got my eye on is Brookville Lake.

How accurate? Well, when it says a site is limited to a certain size RV, the degree of level is a consideration. A site may be large enough to park a 40' RV, but- there would not be a way to level the unit because of the slope; so they limit the site to (for instance) 25'. Side to side slope is normally within easy leveling limits. The best way to find out for sure about specific sites is phoning the CG office. Those length limits are set for easy manuevering. I have shoe-horned into a 30' site at some parks after convincing the park staff to let me try.
