I know Candace & Bill will just laugh at us lightweights, but the weather the last day is special for us "southerners". At least the sun is out now. It's official, Columbus had a record 24hr snowfall (last record dated back to 1910): just over 20 inches fell since Friday!

My favorite garden ornament (sad, ain't it?)

Dave clearing the drive (& no that's NOT a car cover on my car...it's snow):

Up/Down the street (what street? where?):

Any of the rest of you enduring this same weather, be safe & enjoy it!

Lori,

We moved today. Yes, I mean moved our household. The closing date on our new house is March 17th, but the buyer of our mobile home is closing on March 15th and insists on immediate possession. Getting permission to store our household in the new house before closing made swallowing the ultimatum a little better. We'll "visit" my in-laws for about 4 days/3 nights in the interim to prepare the mobile for transfer.

Since we scheduled the move before the weather forcast, I was locked into doing everything I could today. The first mistake though, was that I rented a UHaul trailer instead of a 26' truck. The truck would have had better traction for backing up even the slight grade at our new house where as the trailer had a mind of its own (complicated by hydraulic surge brakes), and my van has highway tires not snow tires.

Praise the Lord that we didn't have any accidents, we worked hard with the help of some friends, made 4 trips moving all of the large furniture and many of the boxes. Now to dry out and warm up for the rest of tonight.

George

Wow Lori,

Looks like you really got dumped on today! Let's hope this is Winter's last gasp, and Spring is right around the corner.

We didn't nearly as much snow as you did although it's still coming down outside.

George,

Where's the new house? Staying in Grove City?

George, Where's the new house? Staying in Grove City? </div></BLOCKQUOTE>

We are moving just 6 miles to Mercer-Grove City Road (SR 58), 1/4 mile from the I-79/I-80 interchange, and 1.5 miles outside the GC School District. 1.2 acres and several nice trees for a tree stand overlooking the neighbor's woodlot.

We looked at houses in Slippery Rock, Portersville, and Prospect since they are closer to work this year. But we considered Mercer/GC because since I work for the Intermediate Unit, my classroom can be changed according to demographic and staffing needs, and located anywhere in Lawrence/Mercer/Butler Counties. So Mercer is pretty central for us.

Another plus is that Jodi already has a driving job for the Mercer SD (next s.y.) and will keep her school bus at home. This will eliminate her 20 mile daily (2 trips to the bus garage each day), $4.00/gallon commute. Although I am will now be 5 miles further from my present assignment, that is only 10 miles a day extra and not as bad with my 35 MPG Jetta.

Been there /done that; I'll take 4 seasons anyday!

Funny how those houses all seem to look the same to me; Is there any orange trees on your place?

I had Oranges, Grapefruits and Bananas; for a while thought I'd never leave. Came back to Ohio and have no desire to return to FLA.
We got our snow, but we don't got hurricanes and I can tell when it's spring or autumn !

Well Lori, I guess you are lightweights! We only got a mere 18 inches here. The worst snow fall in inches we ever recieved was in 2001 the week between Christmas and New Year it snowed a total of 7 FEET! The snow just would not end!

Hopefully, this will be the last of it for the year. And to think we never got out on the snowmoblies this year!

We need to get the motorhome ready for our Spring Break trip in April....we didnt do anything as far as add-ons (new maxx airs, surge protector, etc) yet. So, I pray Mother Nature is kind to us!

Yeah, but we know the real reason you moved there George.

You just wanted to be closer to the Mercer/Grove City KOA!

C-O-N-G-R-A-T-U-L-A-T-I-O-N-S on your new residence!

Just palm trees..... Believe me, I lived in Saxonburg for seven years so I have at least a little taste of the snow, but most of my life was spent in Virginia Beach, where'd I probably be today if my brother hadn't retired here two years ago.

Having moved here and now had lots of GREAT and WONDERFUL things happen in my life, I'll suffer through the mono-season environ.

For those that don't know what happened, his employee TOLD me to sign a credit card billing slip. The fact was that my site had been PAID IN FULL for two months. The business should have given me a RECEIPT upon checking in, not a BILLING SLIP. I questioned if my account was going to be billed again, and the owner told me to "JUST SIGN OR LEAVE." He acted like a bully. Simply put, this man lacks decorum.

Ooooooohhh, Sorry, George. Didn't mean to open a "can of worms". Just wanted to poke a little fun amongst us like we usually do.

BTW: We escaped the brunt of the storm here in Pittsburgh. With the sun out today, the inch or two we got was gone by the end of the day except for the shady areas and where the piles were from shoveling.

THINK SPRING!
