I'm guessing, George, but I think that drawing for the free Pittsburgh RV show tickets is taken from those printing discount coupons on that particular day. So, if you made all four entries on the same day, you improved your odds of winning (and you won), but I don't think you're going to see anymore tickets.
On their website it says:
Quote:
|
FREE TICKETS!!
When you print your $1.00 off coupon, you will automatically be registered for our FREE Ticket drawing! (Name and email address are required).
|
It says nothing about the frequency of the drawing and I assumed there was going to be only one winner from all the entries. However, when I won, the email said it was a daily drawing.
Being that we both won on the day we printed the discount coupons...

How do you get the tickets you won? Do they send/email them to you? I'm not interested in going, but would be a willing accomplice to shamelessly signing up for coupons in order to possibly win tickets that I'd give to a Piggie in need. (among home, hotmail, yahoo & msn, we've got several different email addresses between us).

You have to go the the Pittsburgh RV Show's website and click on the $1.00 discount coupon. Then you'll get a window asking for your name & Email address. Enter it and then you get an image of the discount coupon that can be printed. If you win, you'll receive an email asking for your address so they can mail them to you.
We haven't received our tickets yet but with the holiday mail schedules and most everyone in holiday mode, I'm sure they'll be some delay in receiving them. For all I know, they might not even have the tickets yet so they might not arrive until January.

In these depressed times when the dealers would hope for anyone with a pulse to walk in their dealerships you would think they would be handing out comp passes to the shows. I do get mailings from the dealership including personal mailings from my saleslady. Without traffic to these shows you don't get a chance to showcase the new products or for your salespeople to do their magic. I also wonder with the tightening of credit how RV's are going to be financed.

What a sad show! We would have been really disappointed if we had actually paid for the tickets. Everything was on one floor (multiple floors were occupied in the past) and the show didn't even occupy all the available space. There was enough room between backs of the units that, if you wanted to, you could use it for an aisle. In past years, the backs were only inches from each other. Some of the aisles were more spacious than previous years too. I presume these tactics were employed to make the show floor look full. There were a number of missing dealers. Even the dealer we bought our pop-up from (back in 1986) was missing from the show who had units on display every year we've attended.
I noticed that all TTs and fivers (which is what I mostly look at) still use incandescent lighting inside. I would have expected to see some equipped with LED and/or fluorescent lighting by now. However, I did see a number of TTs and fivers equipped with electric stabilizer jacks.
Of Course, one of the good things about the RV show is the information and brochures you can accumulate to help plan your camping season. We obtained 2009 private campground owners association guides for several states and Ontario. I also took a brochure for a campground in Greenville, PA called Farma Family Campground. I’ve never heard of it before. Has anyone else? They claim to have 250 sites on 110 acres and cottage rentals. The pictures (as they always do) look nice.

That is a pretty slick rig. Wonder if it has a sail option?
