Now that most of us have put our RVs away for the winter, here's something that's sure to lift your spirits until the robins (and RVs) return in the spring:

2007 Pittsburgh RV Show

Maybe we could get a group to attend on the same day and have dinner afterwards. I know where there's a Hoss's (Actually, I know where there are several).

Count us in! I'm collecting brochures and quotes now. When I hit the show, I want to be ready to roll up my sleeves and arm wrestle some dealers!

Frank and Chris, we really don't need to go to the RV show now . If I do go, I can enjoy the sights without being overly concerned with gathering price quotes and such .

George, NOW IS THE TIME to go.....You're ALL DONE with the purchase aspect and now you can go and enjoy the show, look at vendors such as campgrounds and other paraphenalia related to camping...
You may find that camping widget that you JUST have to have...

GO and have FUN!!

I see Hufnagel/Majors and Cooper's RV there as dealers....NICE FOLKS!!

We actually bought our second fiver from Cooper's.....A 32' Carri-Lite.

At this point, we are planning on going to the Cleveland show on Jan 6th. We did Pittsburgh last year and think we will try Cleveland this time.

It's doubtful we'll make it to a RV show this year.

We had thought about heading to the Cleveland show but the weekend doesn't work out with us since we've got a weekend B'day party for Alyssa.

IT WON'T BE LONG NOW!!! (said the cat after he got his tail caught in the meat grinder).

Our Sunday paper included an 8 page supplement for the Pittsburgh RV Show. I noticed that the states of Ohio and Pennsylvania have advertisments for their state parks. This is the first time I recall seeing this. The PA state parks have a "Cabin Fever Promotion" for Clear Creek, Cook Forest, Pymatuning, Kooser, Keystone, Ohiopyle, Raccoon Creek, Ryerson Station, Laurel Hill, Moraine and Yellow Creek. Buy one night at a cabin, Sunday-Thursday in January, and get the second night free.

Unfortunately, the mild winter weather we've been having thus far (the outdoor thermometer on our heat pump says it's 55F outside) hasn't put me in much of a mood for it, though. I feel more like camping than attending the show.

When I called last week to make 3 one week reservations for PA. state parks for next summer the lady made it a point to push their winter specials for cabins.
I guy at my work said he was hoping to get some free tickets to the Cleveland show. I hope he comes thru. Hey Frank I'm a skier and this funky winter is killing my season.

I went to the Cleveland RV show last Sunday. Frank you said that the Pittsburgh Show advertised the state parks in both Ohio and PA. would be there. At the Cleveland show I didn't either. I would say about 1/2 of the northern Ohio private campgrounds were represented. Over-all I thought the show was an improvement from last years. Better variety. Less hybrids and popups, more motorhomes. The price was $8 for parking and $11.50 for the show. ouch....

Hi Jim:

Naw... they only had ads in the program. I observed no representation from either state at the Pittsburgh show. I was surprised even to see the ads.

The price for the show was $8.00. There was a printable coupon for a dollar off on the Pittsburgh RV Show's web site. I printed them, then forgot to take them to the show. Parking was $10.00. I guess we're somewhat reversed when comparing Pittsburgh's show costs to Cleveland's. I rarely park at the show. In fact we usually go to a park 'n ride and take the light rail to Pittsburgh. It's $1.75/person each way and about as close as I get to riding a train at this time of year.

In the trailer department, there seemed to be a lot more 5ers on display this year.

I almost always see something unusual at the show and this year was no exception. There was this TT that had a front and rear door. Yeah, that part sounds normal. And while on every TT I've ever seen, the rear door opens into the bedroom, galley, or living area, this TT's rear door opened into the.... BATHROOM!!! You opened the door and there was the toilet. In fact, when you're seated, you face the back back door. I can just see it now... little Billy outside with with his friend Jimmy. "I'll be right back out, Jimmy. I have to go inside for a minute... OOPS! Hi, Mom.".

I'm not sure what the intention of the designers was. Maybe it was so children could use the bathroom without tracking mud all through the unit . Personally, if my kids were that muddy, I would have just told them to go use the campground's bathroom.

Frank-
Maybe those backdoor TT's were for the select folks that the fantastic fan doesn't provide enough ventillation - if ya know what I mean.
