We visited Rockome Gardens, Rockome Gardens & Rockome Garden Foods | Cheese Factory | Amish Buggy Rides | Amish Tourism East Central Illinois, located in the middle of Illinois Amish country, between Arcola and Arthur, IL during the Memorial Day weekend. We were greeted by the new owners, Steve and Beverly Maher, whose enthusiasm over their renovation plans was exciting and welcome. Rockome Gardens has been on a downward spiral for years due to a lack of preventive maintenance and neglect. Steve is considering building a small RV park consisting of approximately 20 concrete, full-hookup, pull-through sites. When completed, this park will make an ideal base-camp for visiting Illinois Amish country and enjoying all Rockome Gardens has to offer.

Send an email to owen@rockome.com with your suggestions, comments, and/or questions about the future of Rockome Gardens. We are in no way connected to Rockome Gardens and have no vested interest in posting this information. The 'Gardens' and shops 'were at one time' an interesting place for families to visit and explore. We have no doubt the Mahers' will once again make this an attraction in central Illinois.

Thanks for the information Chief John. I was there about 35 years ago, I can't remember much about the place.

Update: I phoned Rockome Gardens last week about visiting for a few days. They said RV'ers visiting the Gardens are welcome to dry camp in their parking lot. There is a RV park in Arcola, IL, 5 miles away for those preferring FHU.
