We arrived today, landed in site #72 with 50 amp full hook ups. Considered site # 20 but with just 30 amp and no water, I didn't think I wanted to break camp to re- fill.
Rules have changed here in Michigan. We had to pay the one time $29 entrance fee but that is good for a year. $33 dollars per day for full hook- up, and just a one time fee $6 for the toad for as long as we stay. No more $6 per day for a towed vehicle.

I appreciate the information. We are planning a circle trip through MI, including the UP, next month to see as many lighthouses as possible. I have been reading a lot on the MI travel website and posts like yours help a lot. Our present plans are to travel up the West coast of MI, cross the bridge, then travel the North coast of the UP to WI border, cut down to the South coast then proceed East back to the bridge. We haven't decided yet if we will come down the East coast of MI to Detroit or not.

We went around/thru Detroit headed to Lakeport SP one year. Bad choice - even NOT at rush hour the traffic was horrible. I'd advise avoiding Detroit if at all possible.

Good news about the fees. I we paid $8 per vehicle (coach & toad, out of stater price) per day entrance fee, on top of the per day site fee. That made an electric only site at a SP rather expensive ($39).

Well avoiding Detroit has become easier.. I've found several ways to zip through Detroit during even the rush hours (Save for Fireworks night going home) and no major issues.

Of course I WORKED in downtown Detroit for a quarter century so I was kind of ... Motivated.. One might say.

The freeways in Detroit often get backed up but if you don't mind a few lights Fort Street will get you to downtown and Jefferson on to the east side where you can pick up I-94 if going that way

Going north 275 bpyassed detroit to 96 to 23 to Flint where it joins I-75

Having worked in Detroit the last 7 months, I find traffic non-existent during the late morning and early afternoon. Only during the rush hours is the traffic bad.
