Has anyone ever camped at Virginia's Beach on Lake Erie in North Springfield, Pennsylvania? The website looks great. Just made reservations for third week of July. We'll have a lakefront spot. Any info, please share. Thanks!

We stopped there overnight on our way back from New England last year. We had a full hook up lakeside site. That meant being in the seasonal area REAL close to some cabins they rent out. Next to that area is a field that sits right on the edge of Lake Erie. Those sites are only elec. I think. maybe water also. There are beautiful sunsets from that vantage point. The owners were fairly new if I remember. They were trying to spruce the place up. There are some things to do up around Erie Pa. like Presque Isle. Not sure if there is enough for a whole week though. Just try to get a site close up to the lake and you will probably enjoy yourself.

Been there a few times. Most sites are electric/water only, unless you are seasonal. They charged us $8 to dump our Blue Tank, on top of the regular camping fee

I do like the area, nice and quiet. A nice drive into Erie from there.

Could you give us a little more detail on your stay there. Such as the daily rate you paid for your E/W? Did you question the fee for dumping your blue tank? I've never been charged for using a dump station when I stayed in that campground. I assumed that this was traditional and uniform. So I'm curious about the charge.

Traditionally, private campground rates for E/W/S are usually $2.00 higher than for E/W sights. I'm curious if Virginia's Beach E/W/S is $8.00 higher than E/W.

George, the new owner wanted $8 EVERY TIME we dumped the blue tank. I think they charged us $29 per night, plus $5 for electric, if we ran the air conditioner.

It just doesn't make sense to me. You use your camper for shaving and showering (which reduces the wear and tear on their bathouse), and they charge you extra to dump your tanks.

I usually dump my porta potti in the toilet at the bathouse when going to take a shower.
