I think we'll be ok for firewood. Back in November we were discussing the firewood ban (under another topic) & I mentioned the US Ag.Dept issued a new quarrantine for all of OH effective Dec 1, 2006. We kinda all agreed that since the whole state is under quarrantine, transporting wood within the state boundaries (or bringing wood from an un-quarrantined state) wouldn't hurt. We weren't questioned about our wood at check in at Mosquito Lake last wknd. I know for one, Delaware county (one of the original quarrantined) finally gave up & is no longer destroying infested ash trees when found. They just can't contain the critters.

Now, we may have to rely on you PA folks to bring the wood for Mercer cuz we OH folks aren't supposed to take firewood outside of the state.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

It's ok to transport wood from any Ohio NON-Quarantined area to either a guarantineed area or out of the state. You can't take wood from a Guarantineed area anywhere outside of it. Only certain counties in Ohio are included in the guarantine. Where you keep your rig and get your wood, Lori, isnt covered. We aren't either. But Jim is.

Oooh, those are the kind of fires Jim likes to build - the kind that nearly melt the fire ring

Keep your fingers crossed for fair weather. Saw the forecast 2nite for next wknd & showers are in store. With luck, they'll come while we're sleeping (like they did this weekend) & not during the day or during group campfire time.

Weather.com,which is pretty accurate for our area, now shows daytime temps in the low to mid 60's and nice evening temps and only 10% chance of rain any of the days. The Cleveland TV stations are forecasting the same. Hopefully that doesn't change.

Was at West Branch this past weekend. They are only going to have 2 of the 4 sections open. The last 2 sections open May 17th. Last weekend there were only maybe 5-10 sites left by Saturday morning. With the good weather forecast for next weekend, they will fill up by Friday night I bet. If anyone is planning on traveling thru Streetsboro Route 14 coming from the north be warned that they have the road down to 1 lane from it normal 3 for sewer work. I think were going to hop on the turnpike for 1 exit and get off at 44 to by-pass the road backup. We should get there at 4.

I can't wait! I took Friday off and now I'm thinking of taking Thursday off too just so I can work on the trailer. I need to cut a hole in the wall and install a new outdoor shower, and modify the sewer manifold / outlet so it doesn't hang so low.

I'll second that YeeeeHawwww.

I visited the doctor this morning and got the cast off my foot. First thing I did this evening was get behind the wheel of the motorhome and try the pedals out. I'll be able to drive, so we're going camping.

What a relief to get rid of that cast. I'll still be hopping around on crutches this weekend, but there's no better way to recuperate than sit around a campfire.

Not for the squeamish, but here's a picture My daughter says I'm frankenstein with the bolts in me
