With fhu sites at $47 & w/e sites at $45 now, the 1/2 price weekends are a necessity. Those are: April 30 – May 2, May 21 – 23 & June 4 – 6.

Like the new site. We have a obligation for that first BOGO weekend, but are free for the other two (May 21-23 or June 4-6). It also said "kids" stay free during the "value season, but I don't know if the BOGO weekends are included because it says

Yeah, I doubt the kids stay free would be good on a 1/2 price wknd. Sorta like those coupons that read "not valid with any other coupon or discount".

We're gonna try for the June 4-6 weekend. In the past when we've been there the weekend after Memorial Day, they aren't very busy. I need to call first & find out if I can plop the coach down on one of their unoccupied sites for the week for free (reference their gas saving daisy chain deal) - or even a small fee. Even though we won't have been there the weekend before, Mohican SP campground is only 7-1/2 miles from Whispering Hills & I don't want to drag the coach all the way back to Columbus just to turn around 4 days later to go back to the same area.

I'll post back what I find out.

We were there last year I believe for the BOGO weekend. I forget which one....

I put my reservation in, online, for June 4-6 but haven't gotten site assignment yet. I asked for either Hemlock 12 or sites 1 or 2 on Maple (my usual sites).

I did get email confirmation from Hali we can drop our units on unoccupied sites during the week we're between Mohican & there. I'm really glad they'll let us do that - it sure saves the gas hauling the RV back & forth. I told her we'd be there sometime after 1PM on Memorial Day as that's when check-out is at the state park.

The only bummer is I'll have to empty the fridge & bring stuff back home in coolers since nothing will be hooked up at WH & I won't leave the propane on when I'm not around. And I'll have to keep stuff in coolers Friday until the fridge cools because it won't get turned on until after we get there. Oh well, for the gas money we're saving not driving back & forth, I'll make do. I can always eat at the DairyBar or Essenhaus in Shreve & buy my beer pre-chilled at the IGA.

Funny thing, I was going thru my camping log book & there are only 2 campgrounds we've been to often. 5x each at Whispering Hills & Cutty's. Although I'll match that count at Shawnee (PA) come this fall.
