We had planned to go this weekend, but the weather didn't look very good. The next two weekends we have other commitments so were home bound. But the 2 weekends before our Memorial Day Rally we'll be free......

Had a really good extended weekend except for a little rain the night before we left...funny thing though; we were riding around to check out some more sites, electric only and found two major sections closed off completely just north of the section where there is no electricity. That is a lot of sites that are not available! Didn't bother to ask why but if anyone is planning to make reservations; this limits substantially what is available.

That section is always closed till just before Memorial Day Weekend. That is like sites 132-186. Also the none pet loop (34-76) usually doesn't open early either. We have been there in the spring, on a nice weekend where it is filled up by 6pm Friday evening, and people were turned away. Just because only half the park is open..... I believe they will open 100% on May 15th. I have a ski travel show to go to this Sat. (5-8). but the following 2 weekends were free to camp......maybe Mosquito Lake?

We'll be at Mohican next week; 13th through the 17th. I have to work through this weekend to make up for what I'm taking off. But I'm not complaining! Believe me!
Our next outing will be for Memorial weekend at my club FISHING and campfires and BEER and campfires and more fishing....

I wish Jan liked it more but I just think the campfires aren't her bag

Enjoy your wknd at Mohican. Hopefully it'll be sparsely occupied & you can get in some serious relaxing. I was with some friends for a "girl's weekend" & we stopped at the campstore to get a trail map for some hiking. That Saturday, the park was, maybe, 1/3 full.

John, what site do you have for Mohican? We are planning on going somewhere next weekend too. I checked West Branch, but they seem to be almost full. So far the weather looks OK. Tonight here in Northern Ohio, we might see some snowflakes. Today I was at a ski travel show planning my group ski trip to CO. for next Feb. I hope it warms up for the Pond Piggies Memorial Day Weekend.

I canceled our Mohican outing this A.M.; mostly because the weather looks like it's going to be nasty but also for reasons only known to the flu fairy..

..I just became sick,,,, and I have a ton of work that needs to be done before weeks end. So; we're going to try for a second outing in June when things settle down a bit and I feel better.

Jim...site 52 should show available now.

We're actually out this weekend. Well, sort of. We're at "Stewart's RV Resort" in Hopewell (Dave's dad's place). 30amp & water, nobody camps in front, behind or beside us. That's better than Lock 30!

We came out to change the oil/filter in the genny but it was way too windy today so we're staying overnight in the coach & will tackle that tomorrow as well as take the coach out for a spin. We did get the antifreeze flushed out though, the furnace is going & Dave just turned on the hot water heater so all looks good. It's supposed to frost tonight, so I'm glad I left a couple extra blankets in the closet.

You had one of Canaan Valley SP in WV. While at the ski travel show today my buddy won a weekend package to Canaan Ski Resort. I asked if his girlfriend skied, No he said, I said good I'm there, I'll drive......Buddy

.....I won a nice fleece ski vest. A few months back I had asked him if he and his girlfriend want to join us at Mohican being I knew they are tent campers. He said if the weather is OK they will go....

Thanks, Jim. It took me about 16 hours total to re-arrange all the photos after I created the albums. I agree, they are much better organized that way & easier for the members to view. I still need to go into my reviews & include the links to the albums.

If I remember, the ski area at Canaan is right across from the entrance to the lodge/golfcourse/camping driveway. While you're there, take a run through the campground. It's small (only 3 loops). The back-ins are well secluded by trees & even the pull throughs (more like the pull-off fhu's at Mohican) aren't too bad either, except I don't like having a side of my coach right next to the road.

That would be nice if your friends come to Mohican. Even at this late date, there are probably some tent sites available.
