We are looking for places to camp for the weekend of the air show.

Is there a rally held at the airbase that we could attend?

Thanks

No rally. There's a FamCamp (military personnel) on base, but I don't know if it's available during the Dayton Air Show. The Dayton KOA, although pricey, is close. Although, if you can get by without w/s hookups, I'd recommend Buck Creek State Park (about 30 minutes NE of WPAFB).

Just as an observation, Lori, the FAMCAMP at $30 a night is not such a bargain either!

I've not been there, just know about it. Are they fhu? If they are, $30 is good seeing as the KOA is $52-55 for a fhu 50A & nearly $50 for just w/e 20/30a & BC is $26 for electric only & with 30a max.

We are good for 6 to 7 days without hook ups so Buck Creek sounds like the ideal place.

I drive near there every week on my way to Detroit. I'll check it out.

Thanks Lori.

As I recall the last time I was in the Dayton area I stayed at the Beaver Creek campground just off the main east/west highway east of Dayton.. I think I stayed there under the Coast to Coast plan but they may be open to non-membership camping too. Nice CG as I recall... I was going to the Dayton Ham fest.

There are also several other places actually IN Dayton.

If you are Catholic check out Saint Albert the Great parish.. One of the choir members is a friend and when I am there I get to join the choir.. (long sotry)

If you are not Catholic.. Well, then disregard that paragraph.
