Boomers,
I've copied the "other" thread detailing the information on the various Texas Areas and announcing upcoming GATHERINGS for the various areas. See note below
I'm proud to announce that Kristi Rupp will be the Hill Country Area Leader! Kristi did a SUPER job at the Tow Rally and has certainly earned her wings as "Minnie Boomer". Kristi, welcome aboard and I know you'll have lots of help from Don Allen (Northeast Texas Area) and Jay Coffman (Southeast Texas Area)! Look forward to working with ya'll to get these gatherings planned and Boomers have opportunities to get together through the year!

You may have noticed various threads here on our South Central Section (SCS) forum entitled "Houston Area Boomer Gathering at.....". To avoid any misunderstanding or confusion, please allow me to explain.
WE ARE GROWING!
The Texas Boomers RV Club is growing by leaps and bounds! Each year, I plan six Rallies for the entire group. Everyone comes in from the four corners of the State for a holiday weekend of camping and camaraderie. However, with a large group, it's difficult to get to know so many people in one short weekend. And there are many who are not able to come due to distance involved.
MORE TIMES TOGETHER
Many Texas Boomers have shared they want more opportunities to get together in the "off months" between the big Rallies to be able to form friendships with others in their local area. As we look at the state map and our infamous "pink scroll", we see a large concentration of Boomers in the Northeast area, the San Antonio (Hill Country area) and the Southeast area of the state.
NOT DIVIDING - ADDING!
To try to accomplish the goal of providing more opportunities to gather in smaller groups, I have "sectioned off" the state into areas. This is not dividing the Texas Boomers by any means, but actually adding to the group! The areas are general and certainly not set in stone! There are many RV Parks and State Parks in these general areas that are not able to accommodate the entire Texas Boomer group, but certainly able to handle a smaller group. We hope to take advantage of these facilities and have new adventures along the way!
JAY COFFMAN, DON ALLEN and KRISTI UPP- AREA LEADERS
Jay Coffman has agreed to be the Southeast Area Leader and Don Allen has signed on for the Northeast Area Leader AND Kristi Rupp has taken on the Hill Country area! They will begin planning some gatherings for Boomers in those areas.
AREA GATHERINGS
We are calling these campouts GATHERINGS so as not to confuse them with the Rallies. The gatherings will be within a 1-2 hour drive in that area and will be less informal that our regular Rallies. We anticipate newcomers, that might not be able to come to a larger Rally, will be able to join the Boomers for a gathering. These gatherings will not be in conflict with the normally scheduled rallies, but be planned for dates in the off months.
INFO ON GATHERINGS
Jay, Don and Kristi will be posting information here on the SCS forum and ANYONE who is able to come can sign up for the weekend event! The purpose is to be inclusive, not exclusive! If you live in the Valley and want to attend a Northeast Area Gathering, just come on up!
We're looking forward to more opportunities to be able to get together, visit new RV and State Parks and meet new friends along the way in our adventures!
Sandy
