Last weekend, I had a blowout on one of my trailer tires. At the time, I was on the Hardy toll road which is a part of the Harris County tollroad system. They offer a free service of a tire change or a small amount of fuel to get vehicles off the road. Simply call 713 227-7328.

The Texas Department of Public Safety (Highway Patrol) also offers a motorist assistance program. The number is on the back side of your drivers license, 1-800-525-5555. A State Trooper will be dispatched to your location for your safety and will call a tow truck which must be paid for by the motorist.

I have Camping World Road Service. If you are in a situation like the Toll Road, call Camping World to inform them of the problem - but I'm sure the police won't allow you to sit and wait for them. Go ahead and get the faster service, pay for it, then submit the bill to Camping World for refund. Worked for me when I had a tire fail on the bus and it was a 3 hr time estimate for Camping World service, 15 minutes for local service.

Thanks Don,
I have the Good Sam road service. While Stella was on the phone trying to wade through the various options (press 1 for English, etc.) I was able to get through to the Beltway helpline and get someone on the way.

Apparently the City of Houston "Clear/Tow policy does not apply on the Beltways or tollroads, since you must pay for the tolls to use the roads.
