All us here in the state of Texas are under a winter weather watch Here in the Houston area, it's downright COLD!
Everyone stay warm and dry, "hunker" down till this passes over and hopefully we can get back to the kind of weather we spout off about to our Northern neighbors!

Sandy, just remember what we call cold is not so bad to our friends to the north. I'm just glad that we are not in NE Oklahoma right now.

I am in Cypress too, Ken and I remember years ago when ice made my trees bend and I was without power. It reminds me how many things need to be done when we have bad weather. My plants are inside or covered, my pool is circulating, and I may let the water drip tonight. All my vehicles are parked inside and my dogs and I are staying in to keep warm. (There are no graemlins with teeth chattering or I would put one here).

I have been up in the great Northwest since last Wed escaping the cold Texas weather - Landed wed in a blinding snow storm in Seattle. Went Skiing Thur Morning and it was 17 with a wind chill to 0 degrees. Got colder on Friday as it was 10 degrees all day at Crystal Mt. We decided to go South today and skied at Mt Hood OR -it was a balmy 22 degrees there today.
Dang gotta come home to that cold Texas weather tomorrow - that is if we can land at DFW.

We have planned to leave for Quartzsite today. But, we will have to delay that until we can get out and make sure the route (I-10) is clear.

It's down right nasty here. The turbine inlet is showing 37 as I type this with drizzlin to light rain. Down right rotten......
Sometimes being cooped up in a nice warm control room is not bad. (But I do have to go out and check stuff from time to time )

Well, I haven't been out of the house since last Thursday and from the looks of it, it'll be a couple of days more before I can. I've had all the fun I want this winter already.

Well, I guess you're getting to live up to your name Ken. I see you all are getting some of this down your way tonight, now the fools have another winter storm forecast for here this weekend. I don't think the "valley" is far enough South for all this. But I'd like to be there instead of here!

We had some light ice here last night, but the city went plumb nuts. Reporters are standing watching a bucket of water to see if it freezes and show ice on road signs...trying to make news.
Even with the sanding, people are not smart enough to slow down on the bridges. Basically much to do about nothing.
I'll hang here at the house until the crazies are off the roads and will head in to work.

Made it from Seattle to DFW last night but all flights from DFW to Killeen were cancelled. Glad our oldest son lives here in Carrollton. All flights cancelled today as well so looks like tomorrow afternoon before I get home that is if we can get to the DFW airport as it is freezing and snowing here now and is supposed to all day. You are right Madame Boomer - BRRRRRRRRRRR !
