We are looking a purchasing our first RV. We have a pull behind now, just ready to move up.
Where do we start on getting good info and what to look for?
We Want Diesel Engine for sure.

Sounds like some big and exciting changes on the way for you. You'll get a lot of good advice here so feel free to ask any and all questions you might have. You'll get much more valuable input if you can provide a bit more informantion:

How do you plan to use the RV? Weekend trips in the summer and maybe one or two vacations not too far from home?

How many are traveling? Pets?

Can you share your approximate budget? If you're planning on spending a quarter million bucks you'll get much different input than if you need to keep it under $50K for example.

With your heart set on a diesel, are you assuming a Class A? If you plan to primarily use it for travel in your southeast part of the country... and you're not going to full time in it... and you don't plan to come out west very much where the mountains can be a challenge... you'll get some suggestions to maybe take a look at a gasser instead. Diesel vs gas is always a fun discussion but IMO the additional cost of buying and maintaining a diesel can best be justified just "because you want one" ... so long as your budget supports it. BTW, I have a diesel and love it.

Best of luck to you.

Rick

Thanks so much... we are asking a lot of questions, but it the questions that you don't know to ask that is the challenge.
Goals: we are retiring, will be doing some travel but mostly it will be used for short trips. Husband has a Diesel truck, and he loves the power. He feels the RV needs to have that power also.

I'm relatively new to RV ownership myself. I found this site almost as soon as I bought mine and I have to tell you you'll get years of experience in a short period of time just by reading here.

Not only will you get answers to your questions but you'll discover questions with answers you never thought of asking and that's where the wealth lays you get to learn by the mistakes and experiences of others rather than doing it yourself.
