Just a little something to think about. Put some new tires on before our Colorado trip next month. There were no weights on the old tires so the tire tech assumed there was no need to balance the new ones. I asked him to see if they needed any;;;; to say the least, they needed some, several quite a few heavy ones. Just something to think about if you have a reason to have the tires off or purchase new ones. Might help them last a little longer and not shake everything loose. Take care everyone, will miss ya'll at Rayford. See you when we get back.

I'd tell the "technician", "If it rotates, it needs to be balanced."

Y'all have a great trip!

I have balanced more tires than I can count. I have static balanced (bubble balance), spin balanced (on the car) and machined balanced.
A few old tire mounter tips:
1) I ALWAYS removed all the old weights and rocks and stones from the tire before balancing.
2) Also, any time a tire needed more than "X" (large amount) we would remount the tire 180 degrees from it previous position.
3) You also need to check for "out of round" rims and tires.
4) Lastly, there are some rims that are NOT centered on the hole for the hub.

Well my worst one was the spare so I was not as concerned about the large nubmber of weights. It was the steel one and the ones on the ground were the aluminum, so they were not so bad.
