Hummer owners beware!

Yesterday Mavis was visiting our daughter (Brenda) in Killeen. Brenda owns one of those fancy H3 Burnt Orange Hummers with all the doodads. It looks like it just rolled off of Fort Hood ready for warfare. If fact it attacked my lovely demure wife with no provocation whatsoever.

Now realize I was dutifully working at my job while Mavis was out cattin around but she swears by the story and at me.

Mavis and Brenda jump in the Hummer to go see the Doctor in Temple which is about a 20 mile trip. Brenda was driving. Shortly after leaving the house Mavis starts squirming around in the seat complaining about how hot the seat was and trying to figure out how to turn the darn seat heater off. She thought maybe she was having hot flashes. Brenda pulls off the side of the highway and runs around the Hummer, hoping no one runs over them, to turn off the seat heater. She turns the heater off or so she thought. She heads down the road again when Mavis hollers that her a double s was burning off. Brenda pulls off the road again and they finally get the durn thing turned off. The seat and Mavis' bottom start to cool down. After visiting the family doctor they returned to Killeen and Mavis jumped in our car to head for home. The 2 hour trip from Killeen to Red Oak took nearly 6 hours. Some knot head damaged a bridge on I35 shutting down the highway. I was watching TV when Mavis got home and she immediately runs in the bedroom pulling down her slacks. Well you can probably guess what I was a thinking but alas not the case. She shows me 1st and 2nd degree burns on the back of her thighs and butt. The burns look very painful and very ugly. I took pictures. Some pictures are of the burns.

Today Brenda called GM to inform them of the attack. They think a heat sensor must have failed but we'll know more after they take a look at it. It's amazing that neither the seat nor her clothing showed any heat damage.

Mavis is doing well but is a bit tender. She is going to be sore for a few days.

Mike -

I know it's not funny to Miss Mavis, but I had to chuckle at this....well chuckle might be toooooooo polite....I downright laughed out loud.

I mean it no offense to Mavis and I'm sure she's going to be quite "tender" for a while. Burns, especially in sensitive areas, can be quite troublesome.

However, your skills are very adept in storytelling! I nearly fell out of the chair laughing when you said

...I took pictures. Some pictures are of the burns". OMG! Mike, the tales (tails) we tell on our spouses!

Sandy

PS: I thought about telling you to kiss it and make it feel better, but then decided that due to the location THAT might not be a wise idea!
I'll probably get in deep...deep....really deep trouble over this PS

Mike,

Thanks for the laugh! You and Sandy should get together and become professional story-tellers. You could make thousands (of fans, not dollars)

Hey...Bring the pics to the next rally!
(just kidding, Mavis)

Thanks for the concern but Don't worry, I am alive but red and sore. Was a long day , from getting burnt like toast to spending over 6 hours getting home to Dallas from Killeen instead of 2 hours because of that big crane taking down the over pass in Temple. I got caught in a middle lane between semi's and they wouldn't give an inch to try and get out of the traffic and maybe go back to my daughter's home and wait till morning to go to Dallas.
The wierd thing is how do you get burned thru leather seat. and slacks and panties? Mike took the pictures for General Motors to insure seat coils and switches are safe in other HUMMERS. Mike says these are very valuable pictures that should not be shown around just willy nilly. He's considering ebay.

Sorry........ there will be no* postings of my behind on any site! the pictures Mike took were for General Motors Safety precautions so some other person doesn't get a burnt rear end . Never know about him... he has some wild* notions in his skull. I still have the nasty looking red raw rear end... but will heal with time. I am going to check the heated seats in my SAAB SUV... have never turned them on so ? same thing could happen..

Well, I wished I would have seen this earlier. You would have been invited to the George West Storyfest where we have story tellers and also the Texas State Champion Liars Contest. Not that your not telling the truth, but we might need pictures to make sure. Anyway, it's to late this year, but be sure and come next year. It's really a fun event.

Well thank you Jim,

It does sound like a tall tale but my love's derriere is pudding in the proof. I don't know about us getting up and telling a story but thank you for the invite.

Or, are you just trying to get a sneak peek at these pictures?

I think that having a RV rally during that event would really be a blast! That really sounds like fun.

Mike

Jim, Mike does have a way with words.
The story is TRUE. I had the blistered ham hocks and back to prove it and Mike did take pictures for General Motors as others have had burnt bottoms and backs besides me.
The reasoning behind the burns is: the heat never shut off.... was hot that day.. traveled a distance from Killeen to Temple, then to add insult to injury. sat in traffic for over 6 hours on my leather seats* hot and sweaty.. as a crane had knocked the overpass down on to I35 and took that long to route the traffic around the accident and out the south side of Temple on to Waco and for me on home to Dallas.

Mavis -

I fear your "<span class="ev_code_RED">tail</span>" of horror is going to be told around the campfires for a long time and the <span class="ev_code_RED">"but*"</span>of many a joke as well. We'll be nice, of course, but cannot pass up a story like this! Please don't be offended...it only makes our love for you sweeter and we'll be friends until the <span class="ev_code_RED">"bitter end"</span>.

Sandy

PS: the devil made me do the above! I swear...he did! The influence just came over me in a powerful way and I could not resist
