The big problem is the power and stations can not pump fuel even if they have it.

From the news cast out of the area, they are not allowing people back into any area that had a mandatory evacuation. Other areas are Ok to return.

Just be sure and have full fuel when you hit the area. Bring bottled water and batteries.

In contacting the folks back home, NW Houston managed to escape the worst of the storm. SW and SE Houston are both prone to flooding as a normal thing.

Many of you do not know them, but Steve and Evelyn Simmons are fine as well and looking for electricity.

Ken

Anna's been talking to her SO and to her employer. Seems they have no flooding but also no power. She bought shelf stable stuff to haul back with her (also water). She's stubborn... get's it from her Dad! We are still worried about her going back so soon.

Glad that everything is going as well as we can expect, y'all be safe going home and hope that all is well when you return. We are getting rain like (never mind I'm sure you would believe what I'm saying) in other words we are getting a lot of rain here.

Other than that, we'll continue to hope that all in the affected area are safe and didn't incur too much damage. Be safe!

Ken,
I have been busy with the evacuation of my sister out of Port Lavaca which once again turned out to be a futile process thank goodness. I just got to this thread.

If anyone in the Houston area needs a place to bring their RV and stay for a few days I can also park a couple here at my place and offer elec and water.

I also have a generator that I can bring you Ken if you want me too before you try to get back home. Just let me know.

Don, thanks for the offer. We are pulling out of here in a few minutes to head back home. We have a generator and so does the in-laws. We can share with our daughter since she is about 4 miles from us....next problem is to find enough extension cord...

Ken has a generator but I don't! I have tried all over Bastrop and Austin to find one. Please call me at 281 382-3237 if I can rent yours. Thanks!

Too bad Ken has already pulled out...... We could have called him "Silver Twinkie delivery service".

Don, I have been on the phone all morning - already used half the battery power. I am in Bastrop and have power here (Bastrop River RV Park). I can drive to Killeen (about 2 hours) and pick up the generator in my Suzuki and possibly send it back with someone at the Octoberfest if you are going. Send a PM with your phone number. THANKS!

Just doin what any member would do to help Don.

And now the rest of the story: Met up with Barbara in Taylor (half way from Bastrop to Killeen) and gave her the genset. Hope she gets it home in time to save the food in her freezer. She was headed straight home after picking up the generator.
