Check out the new rigs Forum for pictures.

We finally got it right.

Born: 2/17/06, Ft Worth Texas
Weighs: 24,000 lbs
Length: 37 feet 11 in

And yes, Sandy the toilet is just right, check it out in March at New Braunfels.

We hated to lose RV, but Bob, Pita and I just did not fit anymore.

But with every end there is a beginning. .. We froze our butts (sorry) off in Fort Worth picking the new girl up, Friday the Feb 17th. We did the walk through in 24 degree wind chill. I then drove, Yes I drove to RV Ranch in Burleson, Sorry we did not contact you, Jim and Dorinda, but .... we were still freezing and very tired. Come to find out the heater would not work, thank the Lord for our electric heater we carry. (I almost did not not pack it).

The next morning at 6:00 a.m. (with slight snow flurries) Bob and I headed back to McClain's RV to get the heater and a couple of other minor things fixed. By 12:00 we were finally on the road home, more or less. The sleep number bed in the rig had walked, so we had to stop in New Braunfels for the replacement. Ft. Worth Camping World was out !!!

I again drove all the way to Waco, I do say it drives better than our Class C. Even though Bob had done alot to make it drive better, the heavier rig really handled wonderfully. Bob even dozed some. He was tired after staying up all night to keep trying to run the heater for us. (It would actually run about 2 to 3 minutes and shut off.) I crawled under the down comforter on top of the heater and slept quite well.

Well as you can see we are quite proud and anxious to show it off, but as with any big purchase there are always challenges (yes) problems. The jacks have already been in for work and the mircowave did not work. My question is "why on a brand new rigs do things not work?". Quality control is just not what it use to be. Or was it ever?

Well again come see us in New Braunfels or we will see you in Rayford on Easter.

Bob and Kris,
Congratulations on the new baby. We probably won't get to see her until April, but promise to drool all over her then.

I guess ya can say the new rig gave yall "The cold shoulder treatment". Glad to see it "Warmed up" to yall.

The problems yall had should not have happened. THose things should have been caught by the dealer in the PDI. (But sometimes no matter how HARD you try things jump up and bite ya when doing PDI's)

I hope yall (The new rig too) have a L O N G enjoyable relationship.

I guess by the size of the rig yall now are gonna be looking for "Big rig sites" 50 amp service at campgrounds.

Congrats on the new rig!

Congrats... I saw it in the photo section.

As far as what is broken... It is kinda part of getting a new rig. But, what you have discribed should have been found in the dealer PDI.

Don/Dale,
Appreciate the feedback, what Kris didn't say in her comments was everything was working at the PDI and when we set up @ RVRanch. But--- as the night went on, the temp kept dropping inside with longer and longer times to come on (and remaining on for shorter time when it did). Turns out we lost the PC board on the furnace, took the dealer about 1 hour to replace, been working fine every since then.

Best to all,

I just 86'd our $#^$$#%%(*)_*#@! mattress (actually sold it) and installed an air bed from RV-Tech (Highways Mag) for under $1k shipped to my door. It has twin air bladders with controls, full memory foam vinyl covered insert, a pillow top zip off cover and a 20 year warranty. It took all of 20 mins to install.

I looked at Select Comfort and couldn't see the price the local folks wanted. CW was either out, back ordered or had to special order. I had CW!!!!

Ed,
We had installed a "Teddy Bear" air mattress in our class c ourselves after the fact, and swore by it as being the best thing every installed. After 4 nights on the Select Comfort, cannot believe the night and day difference between the two. Loved the "Teddy Bear" unbeliveable the inprovement of the Select Comfort..

Ours was listed as $1130 @ Camping World, actual cost was $830 between dealers, no cost to us.

Dale, who was the unlucky person you sold the orginal Winnebago mattress too????

Best,

Winnebago mattress.... Hey we have the high dollar Newmar plywood covered board! Actually we are selling to a couple in our Good Sams club. They have a mattress that is even worst than ours. They like a real firm mattress and it seems to fit the bil, sooooo we will take the money and run

Hamie

Have you ever thought of making another set of those window covers?

If so, I could provide the funds and measurements.

If if not, maybe you can give me a blow by blow instructions. I am not real sure how you attached yours. I not real sure I am up to the task, but I do have a sewing machine buried somewhere. Is the guilt working yet.

If not, well like I say .. I could use a couple of pointers.

Hope to see you soon.

Congrats Ruppr's on the new rig. Sign us up for the "grand Tour" in March.

1st thing I did when we bought the Everest was to toss the stock 3 inch RV mattress that laid on a piece of plywood and remodeled the slide out to hold our old mattress and box springs from our house (we has just bought a new Serta pillow top set). Now it's just like sleeping at home
