Well, since all of the other pink "chickens" did not step forward. I bit the bullet, crossed the street and took the hit.
I have reserved 20 spaces in Tow, Texas on Lake Buchanan at the Hi-Line Resort for July 1st to July 4th. Rates are $20.00 a night. Check out their website:
www.highlandlakes.com/hiline/
It looks really cool. They have a pool, meeting hall and plenty of fishing space. You could even bring your boat and launch it from their ramp.
The Vanishing River Cruise will pick up at the Hi-Line's dock. So, I am trying to arrange a tour for Saturday. They usually last about 2 1/2 hours and range in price depending on whether we meet the group requirements.
OK, the Big Question!!! How many Boomers would like to participate in our July 4th Rally. Unfortunately, Madame Boomer has prior committments, but I am sure we can down a few margaritas without her.
Please RSVP as soon as possible as the RV park is wanting a count. 20 is the maximum we can have and so we need to commit to reservations.

Don
Thank you. Thank you. I was really worried I would be the only "Pink Chicken" on display in Tow on July 4th. Please feel free to bring your own fireworks. We can let off a sparkle or two. And you are straight, we can down a few, what was his name, oh yeah, Jose, that weekend.
We also, will be coming in on the 30th. It will be good to see you and Pat again, since it has been since Easter in Bandera. Hope Pat is moving around much better after the knee surgery.
The first round of ice is on you.

Minnie -
RustyJC and I will be there (most likely) too! I suspect we'll come in on Friday, but will have to leave on Sunday so I can get back home to usher in the 4th with my emcee duties for the Parade!
Thank you for stepping up to the plate to organize this and I have no doubt that you'll pull off a first rate Rally!
What's all this talk about margaritas? My first one will be a toast to Minnie Boomer and to her success!!!!
Sandy

Count the Palmers in on this one, too!
We'll arrive the 1st and leave the 4th.
Thanks, Kris, for organizing the rally. Let me know what I can do to help.

Can you just hold a spot for the Elzner's?
I've got to find out from Jeff if the office will be closed on Monday or not.
Besides, y'all know how I just love Margarita's

Here come the WAGMs, hold us a spot!! That river cruise sounds like a boat ride into the twilight zone, what if while you are gone up the river it vanishes????? I know I know, while you are on the trip just drop pink chickens over board and then you can follow them back to camp. We miss youse guys!!
See yall in the funnies, Warren

Warren, The Vanishing River Cruise is really a fun trip. In the summer they offer a dinner cruise (or a least they use to) and run up the river, provide dinner and some entertainment as well. If you get a chnace do the dinner cruise, the scenery is great. Depending on how much rain there has been, depends on how far they take you up the river. Have to have enough water to float the boat.
Also, the trip leaves from the opposite side of the Lake Buchanan so you have to go all the way back down to Hwy 29 and back up the other side of the lake. Allow at least 30 minute and it is a nice drive. Much better in April with all of the wild flowers.
You can go on over to Llano and there are several excellent Bar B Que places there.

The boat does stop at the RV dock and pick up. Glad to see all of the responses. Thanks.

Ken, there is actually only 1 good bar-b-que place in Llano. It's Coopers.

The best Bar B Qe is Cowboy's BBQ in Salado, TX, between Georgetown and Waco. Another good place is Mouses in San Antonio.
