There is a bluegrass music festival at Haven's Landing in Conroe on Thursday May 18th-Saturday May 20th. Would anyone be interested in going? We went last year and it was a great show. I realize that this falls on two work days, but we could still get in one day of listening to the music and have ourselves a good time too.

You can see more about the bluegrass festival at Bay Area Bluegrass

Let me know if this has any interest.

Last year's festival was good, and this year should be better. The headline show is Blue Highway, a great bluegrass group. My work schedule recently changed, and this fits right in with a Friday the 19th off. I thought that there might be some in our group that like bluegrass music, and we all know that Haven's Landing is a nice park.

Awsome. I've got it marked on my calander. Our inlaws we're staying at HL, and they told me about it after it was over. I've been hoping I could find out info on it for this year. Looks like I got it. Hopefully I'll be there.

Thats good Charlie. I think it will be another fun weekend, but am puzzled about why the festival would be from Thursday until Saturday instead of Friday thru Sunday.

We made reservations at the Landing weeks ago for this event. I assumed it would come up as a topic here soon. Jay, I can't remember where we bought the festival tickets last year. Was it at the park? Dutch

Yes Dutch, last year we bought the tickets there at the park. I think this year, we'll probably just go to the Saturday show to see the headline group Blue Highway, although there were lots of other good groups playing.

I'm trying to get my co-worker (who builds guitars and banjos) to come to the festival again this year. If he comes, I will ask him to play for us. He had a professional band that appeared on the Grand Old Opry.

I spoke to someone at Haven's Landing today about our May trip. She gave me 6 sites that are back-in's overlooking one of the lakes and the gazebo, which is a much prettier location than the pull through sites. The pull-thru sites are closer and are within walking distance of the rally hall, and I can change the location if we want to, just let me know. She also said that there were two more sites on this row, for a total of 8 sites. If more than 8 sign up, we can change locations because there are several open areas right now.

They gave us a rate of $23.00 per night, and all 6 reservations are in my name. They will be changed to the individual's name when it gets closer to time to go.

Thyanks, Jay. Either place is OK by us. We still plan on attending.
