Sandy,
Got a NEWS FLASH! ruppr2 said she could make a 10 am breakfast/brunch.
Looks like we'll bring some scrambled eggs for the Saturday Breakfast/Brunch, and a couple of salads for the Island Party, most likely a cabbage salad and a hot macroni salad.
Best,

Sandy, clue Dottie and I (Art, by the way) in on the protocol for the meals. I have a background in family type restaurants, so not afraid to cook, but I don't know what y'all would like to see us contribute. Do we bring our grill and cook somewhere or what.

Ruppr and Allendp -
Gotcha down for the grub! As always, you know we'll have more food than we could feed an army!
<span class="ev_code_RED">COOKIEMAN!</span>
I apologize for not "splainin'" things better! Usually what we do for Boomer rallies is everyone signs up to bring a dish (enough to serve 8-10 people) to the various meals. We always have a great variety (and enough to go around) by doing it this way. Then everyone brings their dish and beverage of their choice to the meal, we put all the food together, head down the food line and stuff ourselves!
Note: At every rally, I "pass the hat" and everyone chips in a couple of bucks. I go to Sam's Club and buy the needed items for the meals (plates, napkins, tableware, cups, glasses, etc etc etc) for all the meals . It makes it so much easier for everyone to just bring their dish and beverage and not have to lug all the "utensils" to the rally building!
Check out the post above with the meal signups, pick out what Dottie would like to cook and just post back what you'll be bringing! Most everyone cooks their dishes in their rig, however at times the rig ovens aren't large enough for some dishes. If that happens, we have an oven at the rec hall that you can use.
For this rally - since we are having a shrimp boil, I'm probably going to go to the shrimp farm in Palacios and purchase a quantity of shrimp (if any is available - I've been told this is not shrimping season). Those who eat seafood can just pitch in some $$ for that if they plan to eat some!
Some of the guys are bringing their big pots with propane burners to cook the shrimp/crab in and when done, it'll be spread out on the food table for everyone to enjoy!
Hope I've answered your ???? - if not, just let me know!
Sandy
