What do you want to do?
May 5-7 or June 9-11 or both.
There is the steam engine deal going on at Pawnee the May weekend, we could do that and do Salt Creek maybe in June or reverse them. Either tell me what you would rather do or I'll pick. OR, suggest a new place.
Voting closes and decision reached by the 14th.

Hi Tom,
Heinz and I think Pawnee in May and Salt
Creek in June sounds great. Of course we
are willing to go along with whatever.
Hope we have a good turn out for both of
them.

We are not officially boomers yet but the June weekend is better for us to try and join up with y'all for the first time. We don't know where either of those two campgrounds are so we would need some directions.
I'll check back and see what y'all decide.

Hi Cat, Well, we are trying to get some interest up here but it isn't looking good is it. I don't know if its the fuel prices(ouch) or not but we'll give it until Thursday and then make a decision. If anyone has any input I'd sure like to hear it. interested or not,
ANYONE?

Both, I LIKE steam engines. When I was a wee tot my grandpaw was an oil driller and they used steam engines on the rigs, the engines looked like train engines with no wheels.
Also the 29th of April is the parade, fiddle contest and chili cook off mmmmmmmmmm some of us went to this last year and they had a bar-b-q cook off mmmmmmmmmm at Pawnee.
You know, Warren

Wow Warren
I've looked and looked online and can't find anything on the chile cookoff the last of April, only the steam engine deal on the first weekend of May. Not to say it isn't there, just can't find it. AND, last weekend in April is taken, at least for me. Our Corvette club has a race weekend going that weekend, road racing at Hallett and drag racing at Tulsa Raceway park so I'm gonna be kind of busy that weekend. So, I'm gonna say that if you want to go before May, do it. Otherwise we may be there the 5th of May if I can find fuel and others want to go.
And I do understand you said both! Thanks!

I found the stuff that is going on at www.traveloklahoma.com, it has a pull down list for towns and then what is happenin and then starting and ending dates. Not much going on here in the middle of the state unless you like artsy stuff or horse shows or flower shows ....
Just about every weekend there is something at Pawnee. Have fun at Hallett and Tulsa, and work on getting that fuel. Last week about put us in the poor house for the cost of running around at Eufaula and the trip from and to OKC. Now I gotta get lazered again in the eye and that kinda takes it outta me for awhile but I will be around again by the end of the month.
See yall in the funnies, Warren

Tom, Sorry I left out a step. Over on the left is a list, click on what to do and then on the pop out window, events, that gets you to where I was talking about the town pull down list. I guess doing things half way is the result of having half sense.
See yall in the funnies, Warren

Well gang, I kind of had my decision made for me. Had to rearrange my schedule so I cannot go in May. If some of you want to go ahead and go please post where and directions and go for it. I'm going to make June the 9-11 at Salt Creek, Keystone lake, the official June event. I'll start a new post with the title, dates and place (including a link) for those that need it. Sorry about May but the rest of you can still go. I only count for one and the steam engine deal sounded pretty good. Thanks to those that replied.

Hey all, This is a little(?) late in telling about the April 29th parade and chili cookoff, we had three rigs and RAIN and some wind but that didn`t kill us, didn`t kill the parade either but the rest of the weekend was a wash. We stayed the week and went to the steam engine show but that was a wet-slick propisition too. Did get some of that real good eatin in, the BGB was the official cook-out quarters with all the fab fish you could hold and you know about the dessert , it`s GOOD for you. Now we just got back from Ft Cobb lake for Mothers day with kids and grandkids and greatgrandkids, more of the eating thing, I think I weigh about 20 pounds more than when I started the diet 2 years ago!!! Still having trouble with the last eye lazering and will go in Friday for another injection of chemo, hope this comes to a schreeching halt REAL soon.
See yall in the funnies, Warren
