Michael completed his formal Board of Review last night. He is now and forever an Eagle Scout. He had 4 adult scout leaders question him about his values, beliefs, plans for future and what being an Eagle means to him for an hour. Then the board met in private for discussion and approved his Eagle application. He did it!
He has already been accepted to work as an instructor for the summer at Boy Scout camp El Rancho Cima over near Wimberly, TX. He leaves 5/30 (the day after school gets out) and returns 7/20. He is excited and ready to go now.
Thanks for letting me brag.

Congratualtions , I'm also the father of an Eagle Scout and like yourself I've been very proud of my son and the life lessons he learned in Scouting. He is now 29 years old and continues on a regular basis to tell me how scouting has helped him. He is now a boat captain in the USVI and used many of his scouting lessons to help him pass his Coast Guard navigation tests. I also know the it takes great dedication from the scouts family to make it to the rank of Eagle so give yourself a pat on the back as well !!!!!

Congratualtions to Michael! That is quite an accomplishment. I was a Boy Scout as a young man and learned a lot about values, work ethic etc. I know how hard it is to become an Eagle Scout as I never attained that high honor. All our best to Mike in his future endeavors in life.

Ron, this is great news! Please tell Michael for us that we are very proud of his accomplishment.
I think BSA has improved the way it handles the rank of Eagle over the requirements that it had back in the early 60's when I earned mine. Today, with an Eagle project, the sense of accomplishment is much greater. It takes a lot of planning and work and every scout like Michael who earns it should feel very proud.
Congratulations again.
