St. Louis to Mountain View, AR
Heading down to the Mountain View area this weekend for an event at Blanchard Springs Caverns. Never driven down there in our Class-A.
Typically, we drive our car down from Rolla: 63 -> 160 -> 223 -> 56 -> 5.
I know that's a pretty tight road as you get closer to AR.
Any better options?

Live in Mountain Home. I would say 223 Viola 412/62 Mtn Home (by pass) then 5 Mtn View, or Viola 412 > Salam 9 > 5 Mtn View. Blanchard springs is north of Mtn View on 14. There are several RV parks in Mtn View.
Not a fun drive in class A. And no better way to go. But people do do it daily.
I do it weekly in car to LR. Take it slow, and if you get behind a loggin truck its all good.

Thanks skypilot_1
So, you're saying it's better to shoot over to Salem and take hwy 9-5 down to Mountain View than to stay on 223-5-6? That really doesn't look too far out of the way at all and if it saves a little stress I'm all for it.

Either way is better then staying on 223 south out of Viola.

Wow, Hwy-9 was a fun drive for that last 20 miles.
Took advantage of one of the pull-outs to take this great pic.

Glad you made it ok. I did Clinton 9 Mtn View 5 Mtn Home yesterday...but in TOAD. If you like that sort of thing try Harrison 7 Russellville. They call it the Grand Canyon of AR. The road is better then what you did, but the views are spectacular.

Wow, you folks are right in my neighborhood. I recognize every road. I'm from near Heber Springs.
Fyi...those roads are awesome on 2 wheels 👍 and some fantastic scenery.

Calico Rock north on 5 has a few neat curves that bikers like. And 5 north just pass Jo-Jo's at the bridge.
