We are trying to stay near our daughter in Sugarland for the month of November for our second grandchild arrival. However, Ike continues to strike, as all campgrounds are full, with the arrival of repairmen, insurance adjusters, etc.
Does anyone know of any full hook up, decent RV parks in southwest Houston/Sugarland that we might be able to find a vacancy?

Roger and Kathy,
I know of the Lakeview RV Resort that is near the Reliant center. The neighborhood is not really the best but its a nice park. Website
There is another new park on Beltway 8 near Hwy. 288 but I don't remember the name of it. Just about all the parks in Houston are full of insurance adjusters, construction workers etc. to repair Houston after the storm.
Good luck,

Hi,
The park Jay is talking about is Advance on 288 I think. A friend of mine had called and found this aobut it. I can't say anything else, as I have never been there. We did camp at Stephen F. Austin State park in San Felipe (near Katy/Brookshire) a few weeks ago and they had sites. Sue
Advanced RV park as a new park. We visited the park yesterday and it is very nice. The park is at Beltway 8 & 288, With access to the Tom Bass Parks, which are adjacent. There are full hookups, a tree & picnic table at every site and the pool & club house will be finished by this fall. They are just finishing 82 more sites. The rates with 15 to 20 rigs will be $33. There is a $100 refundable deposit for the club house for cleanup. OK pet policy.

Jay, Sue,
Thanks for the tips. I have called them already. All of them have the same story, full up, with no let up in site. Got my name on waiting lists for all of them that have waiting lists and all of them not much hope.
Roger

My daughter is currently working at 2 hotels in Houston. One is closed for repairs (and workers are staying there) and the other is open. She said all available places are filled. You may need to start looking a bit farther out of town. Like Livingston!

You might also want to try Brazos Bend State Park if you can live without sewer hookups.

I had not thought of that. I know that Stephen F Austin State Park is open over on I-10 and they do have full hookups. Really a great place to stay.

Thanks for all the tips. We looked at both Stephan Austin and Brazos Bend State Parks. Neither of them had any continous 14 day availability.
Just got a call today, from Riverbend RV Park and Resort. They just confirmed a month stay for us. It is but a few miles from our Daughter, so we are happy.
thanks to all.

We stayed at Riverbend the week of Spring Break this past March since all of our boys had plans away from home. The park is close enough for us to drive to and from work and save gas money since we commute daily from Wharton. The savings actually paid for our week stay, so we broke even, but saved hours of drive time. The park has no amenities and no shade, but is very quiet and close enough to the new Town Center in Rosenberg and Town Center in Sugar Land to have any all amenities one needs within a 15 minute drive. The park has plans to continue improvements and has purchased surrounding land to continue development. We hope so since it is one of our options available to save commute time when it is just us and we are in need of a place to sleep and drive in to work.
