Our son and his family, being the die-hard Longhorns that they are, will be spending Thanksgiving weekend at the in-laws in Austin since the A&M football game is in Austing this year, so we will be home-alone again this year. For the past few years, we headed down to Brownsville for the warm weather and ate Thanksgiving dinner with about 100 other folks at one of the snow bird resort areas. But with the price of gas these days, I think we will be looking at something closer to Kingwood this year.

Is anyone with the Boomers planning anything that particular weekend? Otherwise we thought about maybe finding a real nice resort aroung Fredrickburg.

Mike and Barb -

Hi! I know we are not having a "state rally" and I seriously doubt that any of the area groups will be getting together for a formal event, but I figure there there will be those getting together individually for the holiday weekend.

RustyJC and I always spend Thanksgiving in Fredericksburg. We usually head up there early on Thanksgiving morning - eat lunch with the great rv'ing group gathered at the Fredericksburg RV Park and then spend the weekend shopping at the Country Peddler, great stores in town and head back usually on Monday.

Would love for ya'll to come spend the weekend in F'burg with us!!! In fact, I need to get our reservations in NOW! They usually fill up quickly for that particular weekend and I may even be too late!!! I'll call tomorrow and see if they have any sites!

If not there, we can always go down the road to Stonewall or even Johnson City!

Sandy

Mike and Barb,
Some of the Houston area group will be at Rayford Crossing for Thanksgiving again. We have been making this and New Year's eve our tradition and will do so again this year. RC furnishes the meats and the park guests furnish veggies to go with the turkey and ham. It's always a ball and close to home too. With the current gas/diesel prices, that's a real concern.
