April 14, 2010, Conway, SC – A “10th Anniversary Reunion Rally” will be held at Ocean Lakes Family Campground, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina from October 10th - 14th, 2010.

By request, members have asked that an event be brought forward to commemorate the 1st iRV2 National Rally that was held in Myrtle Beach in September of 2001. The rally is going to be held in conjunction with the Columbus Day Holiday.

Fifty sites have been reserved for IRV2 members. All sites are located together on the beachfront in the H and HH area of the campground. See the campground map Site amenities are: Pull through cement pads (all), water, electric 20/30/50A, sewer, cable TV, and phone line. Free Wi-Fi is available at Sandy’s Meet-N-Eat adjacent to Sandy’s Mart and Sandy’s Fluff & Fold. Golf carts will be available at a 50% off discounted rate. WiFi is available throughout the park on a subscription basis.

iRV2 members wishing to attend must make their own reservations with the campground. The daily rate is $47.04 including tax. (x4 days) A deposit of 50% is required to secure your reservation. Please call: 877-510-1413 and tell them you are a member of the iRV2 Group. They will know exactly where you need to go or you can request a specific site depending on your RV length. The cutoff date for reservations is September 26, 2010.

We are planning a “Social” for Monday evening on the beachfront Gazebo (weather permitting) and a “Potluck Dinner” is planned for Tuesday in the recreation center. Don Morgan (Petro) is planning “Coffee with the Mayor” in the mornings at the recreation center. Other ideas are welcomed and can be discussed over the next few months. Note: In order to qualify to use the recreation center we need to book a minimum of 25 reservations.

There are many entertainment opportunities in the Myrtle Beach area. Discounted tickets are available from the Concierge desk in the recreation center. Venues like the Carolina Opry, Legends and Le Grand Cirque, are highly recommended.

At this time we have one RV seminar and it will be conducted by the Mobile RV Medic’s, Dale Sumner. Dale is an RVIA Master Certified RV Service Technician. His seminar will be on “Basic RV Electricity”.

It is requested that when you have made your reservation to please RSVP in the "iRV2 Event Calendar" .

Please see the pictures in the Myrtle Beach 2010 photo album. We will be adding more pictures so come back and visit the album often.

So ... bring your flip-flops and comfy chair and we are looking forward to seeing you all at the beach!

Al, We can also include a line in our signature line promoting the event I'm going to come up with something soon.

It would be great to get as many "original" participants as possible. That means that Pam & Dave have to come down on their bike and stay with someone if they don't have an RV. Short of that they can tent on a site.

I have a list of names of the original group of folks that came to the 1st and I might put that up a little later .... just in case we want to see who was there the first time.

What fun to have a reunion. We were there in '01 and we will be there in 2010. It will be our stop over to Florida as well. It will be fun to see how many returnees show up. Will make a reservation soon.

Jim&MJ, Thanks for updating the Calendar! If everyone does that we'll be able to track this thing pretty nicely.

Hi All,

Hey Jim & MJ it is good to know that folks who were not at the first one will also come! See you in 6 more days at Stone Mnt.

Hey Driver,
Do you know if in the off seasone I will have to leave my scooter out by the front, or do they relax the rules a little off seasone?

Al, If your scooter is mounted on your motorhome, it can stay there. If you intend on riding it, you might need to leave it in bike parking and we'll shuttle you out on a golf cart. We can even tow you back to your site with a golf cart so you don't have to park it up front. When you need to go out we can tow you back up to the front gate. All we need is a good rope.

Hi Al
I just spoke to OL and what Michael told you is correct however, you don't
have to leave it mounted to the MH/jeep. You can park it on your site.
See you at the beach!

Isn't the WCMC east rally about the same time at Camp Hatteras Resort?
If so, decisions, decisions, decisions on which to attend.

JC2, Actually it's a no brainier! The WCMC Rally is from the 5th to the 9th and the iRV2 Rally is from the 10th to the 14th. I do expect that a number of WCMC members will want to make the trip South to Myrtle Beach as some of them will be heading in that direction. All others are welcome!

If you have not come here, you need to spend a little more time on the beach! There ain't no such thing as too much of a good thing PLUS there's a lot of stuff to do while you're here! At the WCMC Rally you can expect many structured activities. At the iRV2 Rally only 1 seminar and you are pretty much on your own the rest of the time. The only events we have are a Social late Tuesday afternoon and a Potluck on Wednesday. (Maybe )

The iRV2 rally is all about hanging out and having fun! If we do things as a group, we'll have to talk about it over the next few months. I would like to do a buffet and a show if that can be arranged. That would be a nice evening in my opinion. I would like to see the new Le Grand Cirque show but we also have Alabama Theater, Carolina Opry, Medieval Times, Dixie Stampede, and Legends in Concert.

Not to be missed is Alligator Adventure, House of Blues, Barefoot Landing, Ripley's Aquarium, Broadway at the Beach and our brand new Ocean Front Boardwalk.

So much stuff to do .... too little time! That's a lot of rallying in just 10 days!

Ever notice how pets resemble their owners? Just kidding Al

Looking forward to seeing all of you in October - especially the new member in Al's lap.
Could someone make sure we don't have any winds that have been given names still floating up and down the coast then ?

I'll do my best ...

Now here's the policy just in case anyone asks. If the Governor (typically) calls for a mandatory evacuation due to weather, your parking pass will be collected at the gate when you leave and you will be refunded your money in full. This only happened to us once that I recall in all the years we've been to Myrtle Beach.
