Additional days: Additional days are available on the 26th and fwd, but not going back on the 21st, etc...

Cost: Betty Brown, CG owner has offered us this. $21 per day, stay 3 nights and 4th is free.
Note: Betty does not do credit cards, so keep that in mind when making your reservation and at your arrival to the rally.

Deposit required: $25 due September 15th. to secure your reservation, payable to Timberlake Campground...address will follow in later posts.
Non-refundable after Sept. 1st...also note you are with the Appalachian Campers ..

Site amenities: 30 amp service, table, fire pit, water & electric, no sewer hook-ups. Dump station and pumping service are available. Ok to dump gray water on the ground if necessary.
50 amp mandatory for anyone? There will be a couple 50 amp sites available in an area of close proximity, please so note when making your reservation, and Betty will accommodate you.

Campground amenities: 2 fishing ponds, games and equipment of all sorts are available from Betty. Baseball, volleyball, basketball
horseshoes, etc.. Creekside sites measuring in the neighborhood of 50 ft. x 100 ft. A pavilion is available for games, pot lucks, activities etc, should we encounter inclement weather. There is a hiking trail around the rim of the mountains overlooking Timberlake, At Timberlake Campground the real amenity is it's peace, serene tranquility and charm of the Mountains. Weather cooperating, we should be near the prime fall colors offering...

Restrooms: There are 2 restrooms/showers available within the campground.. somewhat dated but are very clean and functional !! Guaranteed !! Restroom area's also offer a laundry facility, pay phone, and newspapers.

Rally venue: Is or will be simple, We will be camped at the doorstep of The Great Smoky Mountains Natl Park. You will be free to do what ever is of interest to you in and around the park, campground, etc....There is a host of entertainment options in and around the park, we will post a list of the major attractions in the area as time goes on through the winter months.

Note: To those with motor homes, I would recommend you bring your toad if day trips within the park or the surrounding area's are of interest to you...

Themed potlucks, for help in food prep's, will be a daily routine for all who care to join in...

All, please plan on a 4-Day Campfire. Believe we should just make it policy that everyone brings firewood to all rally's, and just leave it go unsaid... Agreed ? OK !!

Notes of shortcoming's as to what some may call it in today's modern day campgrounds: Timberlake does not offer cable, and tv reception is nil, so bring your satellite's, movies etc. cell phones have worked in the past, no game room, no swimming pool, or computer hook-ups...I assure you once you get your chair by the campfire and the Whispering creek all these short comings will disappear. !! I am confident in this as I have witnessed'

Emergency ?? 911 is a working service for the area. Also there is a major hospital and clinic within a 15 mile radius...

Planned activities: I will be working through out winter months here preparing an agenda for the rally, and make posts as we go along...

Ideas that may well become reality are a welcoming pancake breakfast, potluck breakfast, couples horseshoe game, campfire dance, Story telling campfire for all to share their most embarrassing moment or moments camping...you have time to get ready for this one
We have time to come up some more fun for all to enjoy, so we'll be looking for more ideas.

Ideas, comments, suggestions for this or other rally's ?? please feel free to post !! Your input is important to all of us!! And appreciated!!

So this should get us started, mark you calenders, set your plans, and we will be posting more information as time goes by here, with directions, address, phone no. for Timberlake, schedule of events, potluck theme's and schedule, etc...

Don't forget your friends and family as all are welcome, also keep an open eye for more members and invite them along...

I thank you and look forward to October as your Wagon Master for Timberlake....

Happy Trails, Sportsman

Since this thread is mostly a duplicate of another one started discussing this rally, I'll close this one and place this link here to connect you to the other one. This way all our replies will be on one thread.

See y'all in October!
