This is my first hurricane since I bought my 25' TT, <4000 lbs. I need some ideas on keeping it safe. Do I park it next to the house or away? Flatten tires? Dig trenches? I will fill tanks, gray, black, and fresh to add weight.
No, we are not going north and yes it is insured.
What else to do?

Back last year I would take our 34' to the underground parking lot at the airport. They charged me like $50 for the week, but that is less than the decuctable. I seperated them so if I lost one the other might be OK after the storm. I really can't give you a good answer about the small TT, a hurricane picks up 65' mobile homes and real houses and throws them around, I don't think that a TT is going to be much of a challenge even with full tanks. If your not going to leave town just hold your breath and pray. IF it is insured and all, there really is not a problem unless it takes both the house and TT. Good luck

I have no experience, but I would think that some type of steel cable from Home Depot with the anchors they use for large lawn buildings would do the trick.

Or just come on up to Orlando for a long weekend and see the sights, it will be raining so bring the ponchos.

The cables are not such a good idea, especially if you take them over the top. They will chafe and cut through.

Best thing to do is get it inside a secure building or leave town.

When I lived in Florida, (1955 - 1999) I used four of those screw augers that they anchor mobile homes with and strapped the frame to one located at each corner. Same method as anchoring a full size Mobile Home.

Good luck with the storm, y'all sure don't need or deserve the grief after all you went through last year.
