Well I made a suprise visit over to the RV repair shop. They called me two weeks ago to tell me everything was AOK.
I went and got the Service Mgr., and the Service Tech. and the Keys and we all walked out to the Motorhome together.
Now it has been waiting for me to pick up for two weeks, and remember everything is AOK.

END RESULT, unlocked the door and turned on the aux. disconnect switch..no sounds..not a good indication..normally hear some sort of beep. Went to turn on the Refrigerator, nothing. Tried to start the Generator, nothing. BRAND NEW HOUSE Batteries DEAD.

Everything that wasn't working when I dropped it off for repair is STILL NOT WORKING.

I had them both stand still in the Motorhome and listen to "my story" ALL OVER AGAIN from start to finish. This time I asked for no interuptions as to what they "thought" the problems were.

Needless to say I drove, not pulled the VW back to Orlando. They will call me when it is ready!!!!, again.

Should have bought a Newmar product and looked at the coach more than the salesperson
Or maybe you should take it to LD to be fixed....

Lou,

That Ultimate Freedom would make someone a mighty nice lawn ornament.

Seriously, I can't believe they are either not trying or they are that incompetent. Has the manufacturer attempted to help with this mystery? This is not good advertising for them.

Hope this time they stumble onto something.

I think the first "major" problem is that folks don't LISTEN to what you are telling them.

They are so SURE they know what is wrong and how to fix it, that you really don't even need to tell them what the problems are.

Same thing happened when Islander was having issues with his "jacks" not rectracting after they were down for a long weekend. Rig goes into the shop they raise and lower the jacks and tell him he obviously doesn't know how to properly operate the leveling system, because everything is FINE. Then Islander suggests that they park the rig and lower the jacks, leave them down for three days (you know as if you were actually using the rig) and then the most amazing thing happened !!!!!! The jacks would not retract for the RV Tech., then, and only then, does he thinks there may be a problem !!!!!!

I am going to have a sign made for the service area that says:
LISTEN...........LISTEN..........LISTEN........

$85.00 an hour labor.Whats wrong with this picture??

Sounds like the information that you are giving the service manager is not being given to the tech that is working on the coach.
Here is a idea that may or may not work. Write down the problem with your description of what is happening. Then make two copies and have the service manager sign both. He keeps one and you keep one. At least this way he can't say that he thought it was a "windshield" leak as in Islanders case. I'm not saying this will eliminate the problem but I found that this does help about 90% of the time.

When we built our house in Apollo Beach, I bought a pack of flourescent pink sticky notes and just stuck them where each problem was, with a note. The workers hated me for it, but it worked.

Can't endorse strongly enough, the points made earlier. Write the problem out for all parties involved in the repair cycle and use Post'em notes to flag the problem spots. It might be useful to write a letter to the manufacturing rep, with a copy to the dealership giving you the repair stiff arm. Of course, if you're having to deal with blind, deaf, and dumb repair technicians and managers, the only way to get their attention is with a 2X4.

Good luck

But, it must be a high quality 2 X 4. Make sure there aren't too many knots that might break.

We had the same problem with ours when we picked it up. The drivers side mirror would not adjust electrically from side to side. Worked fine up and down. Diagnosed as bad motor, order new mirror assembly, when they finally received the proper mirror assembly, the tech called me out to sit in the motorhome so he could adjust the alignment of the mirror assembly. I tried the mirror while he was tightening everything up and guess what, the mirror still wouldn't adjust. The tech told me it was not written up for not operating properly, it was written up for pitting on the mirror head. I carefully explained the problem again and in 5 minutes he found a bad switch and had it replaced.

I have a couple of good quality 2x4 underneath, just in case I need them for the jacks, so I called over the repair shop and told the supervisor and tech to pull them out and hit each other up side the head.

Seemed to work out fairly well, both went home early with headaches. At least I don't have to be concerned that any damage was done to the rig.

By the way Islander, while I was there I told them to remove the big windows on the side to make sure your windshield leak wasn't coming from there.

Just kidding don't call, but your rig was inside.
