Who is going to the Fall Rally??? We are interested in going, we are expecting our 2nd child at the end of July and my mother in law is staying with us until December. She wants to visit the sites in Cherokee, and this seems like a good chance to meet some new friends...

Hi Jason, Noi, and Nikky,

Al and Barb "SPORTSMAN" are up in Wisconsin until the middle of August, I doubt you'll get an answer since he doesn't have Internet access where he's at. I know a few more "Appalachian Campers" are traveling for the summer so don't get discouraged if the replies are few and registrations are scarce. It'll come together as the time draws nearer.

I'm planning to attend if another issue I'm expecting doesn't conflict, won't know for sure until a later date.

You'll love the campground, it's in a pristine mountain wilderness setting but is still close enough to Cherokee to use as a base. Plus, there's lots of nice folks who attend these and we have a great time.

The deadline for registeration is <STRIKE>September 15</STRIKE>, so I would think most people would be registered already, I'm considering registering, but haven't heard from any others that will be going. I realize "SPORTSMAN" is out until mid August, but I figure the individuals can chime in at any time.

We plan on going,I have a class reunion the same weekend so will be a day late getting there.I plan to get my check in the mail today or tomorrow. We went to Sportmans rally at Whittier last year and a great time was had by all!

I was wondering because I have small children, and was hopng their will be some people with young kids as well, This will be my first IRV2 rally, just need to know what to expect.

I doubt if there will be any kids there,especially the time of year it is.I would love to take my grandson but he will be in school and grandma will "donate" a few coins to the Indians at the casino in nearby Cherokee and he wouldn't be allowed there! We would love to have y'all at our small rally at Meadows of Dan,but its the first weekend in Aug.and probably too early for your wife to travel.Again,really not expecting any kids there either,as most of us are grandparents! Now,at the National rally,there are kids of all ages-you missed a good one and should think about signing up for the one next year.

I saw the Meadows of Dan, and knew it would be too soon , that is why I was looking at the fall rally. We may plan on going up that direction in October anyway because my Mother in law wants to visit that area....

I talked with the campground owner this afternoon and the registration deadline date has been extended to <STRIKE>September 15th</STRIKE>! _{10/3/05 Edit: Just call the campground @ 828-497-7320}

We are still "up in the air" due to no children being at the rally, because we really want something for our 2 year old to do.. If there is anyone with small children considering attending, please chime in. My mother in law will be coming with us, and she is from Thailand, and wants to see the sites in the Cherokee area before going home...
