Hey;

This weekend, my wife, Pat & I will be camping, in our pop-up, at Timberlake CG in Whitier, NC. While there we would like to visit Bryson City and Fontana Dam.

Can anyone suggest a retuarant in Bryson City for lunch or early dinner?

ICAMP2 -

SURE CAN, THERE IS A BBQ JOINT ON OLD 19 AS YOU COME INTO BYRSON CITY FROM WHITTIER..... THERE IS A PIG SIGN ALONG THE ROAD, DID NOT STOP IN THIS TRIP BUT WE'VE TRIED IT IN THE PAST AND IT WAS VERY GOOD !! PLATE LUNCHES FOR $5.......... ALSO IN SAME AREA IS THE SMOKEY MTN RESTAURANT THAT WE'VE HEARD RAVE REVIEWS OF BUT HAVE NOT TRIED IT AS YET......

IN A SHORT TOUR OF THE TOWN THIS TIME WE SEE THERE ARE NUMEROUS NEW RESTAURANTS AVAILABLE... SO PICK ONE AND GIVE IT A TRY......

GOOD LUCK, SPORTSMAN

Fontana Village, at Fontana Dam there is a hotel resturant. Don't remember its name. I am sure it will still be open. Once you get to the village there is a little store you can ask how to get to the rest. It is just up the hill. We have eaten there and it is nice. Not pricy and food was good.

Peppercorn Family Restaurant

Haven't ever ate there but we are going up there the week before Christmas (celebrating our 25th wedding anniversery... the one we had back in February... stuff happens). Hey, if you really like the place, my mom has these point things for Fontana that she has been trying to get rid of (Free).

I can't believe it's been so long ago that we talked about our Fontana ****, & Whittier, NC trip. That turned out to be one of the best trips of the summer; even thought the late season temperatures at night got down to 28 degrees. The days were great.

We enjoyed staying at Timberlake CG and meeting Betty Brown, the owner.

Thanks to you for your imput that made this trip a memorable one.

It will be a HAPPY NEW YEAR in Dixie! Great country, great people!

Lorna what did you mean by "these point things from Fontana?"

Harry
